This engineered flooring is a neutral greige tone. The finish is smooth with no wood texture feel. The top and bottom plank are full length where the middle pieces are split which I thought was odd but maybe that’s how all boxes come The backside of the planks are a rustic finish that I kind of like (see last photo). BEWARE! This baseboard will cost you a fortune. The material itself at $57 per plank is one cost. The extra planks you’ll need to order to try for some color cohesion is another, and the extra you pay your installer to cut pieces (to remove unsightly dark splotches and variations) and jigsaw them together to appear cohesive is another. I was too far in to turn back but I will never be happy with what I ended up with. Meant to look special, looks sub builder-grade. I’d have been better off with plywood and a router. I understand it’s natural wood and poplar is known for its distinctive patterning. Unfortunately it just looks cheap. I can’t recommend it.
