I have to say the manufacturer made it pretty much dummy proof. The lights, sound, and automatic score board make the table come to life. Using this timer, we did a retrofit to enable our new front porch chandelier to be an automatic dusk to dawn light. It was easy to switch out the existing light switch inside our house with this timer. Although the lettering is quite small, it isn't difficult to program or operate.
