Be prepared for assembly. You'll need the following: spray dish soap for lubrication, a rubber mallet and a phillips-head screwdriver. Fortunately, it's only four screws, the rest is like putting together a Lego set. It just takes some serious pounding with the rubber mallet to get the pieces to go together, and I mean serious pounding. Just fair warning. The dish soap helps to get things going. It feels sturdy, and so far it has held up very well to regular use and being exposed to the elements. I can already tell this ladder is going to make our summers a lot more enjoyable.
