Artist Zoey Riley was born to very conservative and traditional parents, who did not support her interest in fine arts. Zoey pursued her passion for fine art secretly as an adolescent, due to her parent’s restrictions, and used the art she viewed in galleries as her tutor. As soon as she was of age, she fled her hometown to live in New York City to be closer to a fast-paced environment, concentrated on art galleries. Zoey used everything around her to draw inspiration, from the street signs to the dancers seen through the windows of dance studios. Multi On Sea Blue

Available as both a handprint on linen and a wallcovering, our classic Coquina pattern gains new life as an indoor and outdoor pillow. Featuring oversized, finely painted shells, this large-scale design would make for a spectacular poolside sectional or upholstered headboards in a beachside vacation home.

A marine fantasy scene, in which two young mermaids ride in the depths of the sea on a conch shell drawn by two seahorses. The smaller mermaid carries a mandolin and the other an amphora. Highlights are the exquisitely delicate underwater vegetation: the fine corals, the colorful seaweed, ... made with the same technique as porcelain flowers. This is one of the few Lladro pieces whose subject matter requires such work, and on which Lladró artisans have taken such pains to create a masterpiece.

Sprays of wrought iron in a gold gilt finish flutter up around the light source on the Aviva Stanoff Sea Fan Wall Sconce, designed by Aviva Stanoff. She says of the inspiration for the design of this gold sconce, “When I had my DNA test done, it turned out I am 12% mermaid! As a native Californian, the sea has always been by my side and has kept my secrets. I have a deep reverence for nature and particularly the ocean, and sea fans that live underwater remind us that we live among tides, that life is cyclical, and that there is beauty in believing in magic.”

Hand Painting

L. Bodine grew up in the pastoral lands of Kentucky, using the colors and patterns in nature as his inspiration. As the oldest of nine children, he spent most of his time taking care of his younger brothers and sisters. During his spare time, he used art as an escape from his busy life. Obsessed with the peace of mind that art gave him, he decided to pursue his career as an artist. Although he resides in Kentucky near his family, he spent most of his adult life traveling the country and soaking up all the inspirations. L. Bodine continues to travel, spending his time with nature and studying the different palettes and shapes of the world as inspiration for new art.

Hours and hours are spent by a ceramic artist to painstakingly form, pinch and shape the porcelain clay into these master forms which are not only beautiful and unusual but have the structural integrity to maintain their shapes when fired. The coup de grace is the extreme variation in subtle color and opacity of the reactive glaze - a range from dusty browns and grays to clear golden citron.

The piece arrived very quickly and the quality was what I expected. However, the coloring was different from what I expected. The online photos showed a rust color veining, but in person it was more of a "dirty, earthy green" color veining.
