I have no outside electric outlets, but have a chicken coop in my backyard and a couple of feral cat houses that can be heated in the winter - if I have electricity available to them. This works well for me. The cord is long enough that I plugged it into an inside outlet and ran it out a window, placed insulation in the window slit and have this outside.
