As the air inside the greenhouse warms, the vent gradually opens to allow the correct amount of air flow into the greenhouse and closes when the optimal temperature is reached. The vent arm was designed with the use of natural wax that expands as the air gets warmer, to push a piston that raises the window, then contracts as it cools, closing with the use of a spring. The Automatic Vent Opener operates without the use of electricity.

I recently had siding put on my home. My contractor sort of refused to put my old awnings back on the house - rightfully so - would have been awful! So, I started searching for suitable choices. Many were negated because they wouldn't have mounted to the siding correctly. Then I found this (and a larger one for my front door but got that one elsewhere as Wayfair didn't have that size) and realized that a mounting kit could be purchased for vinyl siding! Hooray! It fit my 6' X 4' Suncast shed like a glove. Super easy to install, just screw down 2 metal reinforcements on the back side with 10 screws, angle the shelf into the desired height of the available supports, and sink 5 more screws into the shed walls. It's been years since we installed this and it still looks good. The "glass" has held up, even through some tough weather this year. It's a bit of a pain to clean, but that's mainly because it's over a landing for the front door that's raised, so getting to the sides is awkward.
