Once I took it out of the box I knew it was a good fit with what I had planned to make that day. I made a stove top pot roast and it turned out wonderful! I seared the roast first and then added the vegetables to sauté. Added the sauce and liquid and forgot about it for 2.5 hrs and it came out so tender. I was surprised as I never made pot roast on stove top. It was so easy to work with and clean up was a breeze with soap and water and with very little scrubbing. Q: How do you care for cast iron pots after cooking? A: Clean and dry your Dutch oven pot after you've finished cooking. Then while the pan is still warm, lightly grease the inside with cooking oil. Q: Is the Dutch oven preseasoned? A: The Dutch ovens have been pre-seasoned with vegetable oil before transportation. However, after long-distance transportation, the pre-seasoning may be different from the beginning. Therefore, it is recommended to simply pre-season it yourself after taking it home.
