Great quality little set! 5" seems much smaller once you're holding it. Holds the perfect amount for a table top grinder. There is not an option to change the coarseness of the grind so it is always a very fine consistency. I would splurge and get the larger size if you are a frequent cook. Conventional salt & pepper mills often create mess by leaving excess grounds on surfaces when placed down. Salt mill mechanism is designed to resist corrosion from dry salts. To get the best out of your Peugeot salt grinding mechanism, you should use dry rock salt, with a max. diameter of 4 mm (0.16"). Not recommended for sea salt. Mills comes partially filled with rock salt for immediate enjoyment. Great little mills. Really like the color option, comes with extra labeled top nuts so you can run coarse salt and whole pepper and know what’s in it with the monogrammed or inlayed top nuts.
