I'm happy with the bunk bed. But my kids are ecstatic. They were celebrating it for like 30 minutes. And the best part is they sleep better now. Putting it together was as difficult as advertised and due to my fitness level, I was sore for days after. The instructions were thorough, though could have been better as some steps could be merged with later ones to make the construction easier to accomplish. And the slats portion could be improved significantly as some were shorter than others. Those steps also didn't convey that the position of each wasn't fixed. So I had to measure the bed frame and put marks down to ensure I did it evenly. I would have expected markings on the frame to indicate where the slats would go. The bed took me 6 hours to assemble by myself. I would look at the entire way to assemble starting at step 20. For me it was easier to do the top bunk matress bars first. The top bunk is not very attractive once its made so I inserted a base under the mattress to tuck the sheets under. (Not shown in photo). Overall the bed is nice. Seems sturdy and while it took a few hours, it wasn’t too difficult to get together. The drawers do not actually attach to the bed, they just slide in underneath which is not what I expected. There is also a small gap between the drawers and the bottom of the bed. I really like the features of the bunkbed and the size fits our space perfectly. The shelves are nice and the LED strips are cool for the bottom bunk. However, some flaws - The product is advertised as real wood, but the only real wood is the 4-post frame and bed slats. The sides and shelving are particleboard and thus are cheaper material. - Because it’s not 100 real wood I think it’s overpriced, but in the end would probably buy it again because of the shelving feature and the size fit our space perfectly. - LED strips only extend two sides of the frame and you can only control them with an app on your phone! (No remote!!) - The bottom drawer is very shallow and barely holds anything, maybe a couple of books. It also isn’t on a track so it slides all over the place. We ended up not using it. - The shelves are shallow and hold small fidget toys and water bottles. The bed itself has been sturdy and the directions were easy to understand. Some issues included missing part numbers (stickers came off bed parts and fasteners are unlabeled and must be sorted prior to construction), missing fasteners (two different screw types were missing, requiring a trip to the hardware store for replacements). The biggest issue was with connecting the upper bunks together. The 30mm screw is simply too short to fit through the slot in the bed and connect to the nut on the other side. As a mom of boys, I’ve purchased and assembled several bunk beds over the years to know that these are my favorites to date. I was able to put the bunks together in an hour by myself without any issues. The bunk is sturdy, and I have no concerns about stability or the bed slats coming out, as they snap into place. The attached ladder doesn't take up floor space or block access to the bottom bunk. The height of the bottom bunk not only prevents anyone from bumping their head but also gives my boys a lounge space to read or watch TV. My only complaints are that I wish the upper side rails were higher since current mattresses are not thin, so our mattress sits flush with the rail. We use a pool noodle under the sheet along the rail for extra peace of mind. If your mattress is on the thinner side, you won’t have any issues. The second is that I wish the clearance underneath was just an inch or two taller, as it wouldn’t impact the bottom bunk and would allow larger totes to be stored under the bed. Looks just like the picture online once assembled, ended up being the perfect size and height for my son’s bedroom and for him to enjoy for years to come, feels sturdy, good quality material. Assembly company was pretty good the first person wasn’t quite able to complete the assembly, I called and someone came two days later and finished it up, was fine since we are still in the process of moving our things. The assembly went decently well. My DIL put it together with my granddaughter holding pieces once in awhile. Took about 8 hours. Hint: do not tighten down until it is assembled, including the ladder. Update: They still love the bed, and I thought i'd add a picture. The wood is more like a rustic whitewash. It doesn't look as well as the picture and who ever shipped it, left it in the rain. The box was falling apart, and luckily I found it and took every piece in by hand, and dried them off. No damage done, but It was unnecessary to leave it like that in the rain when they could have left it next door at my parent's who have an over covering on their porch. Both DIL and granddaughter got on top bunk. It felt sturdy and didn't move around. We did get a bunky board for top because mattress is foam. The girls love it and are having fun putting their dolls and stuffys around. Very unhappy with delivery. Boxes falling apart. Fed ex stood one up at bottom of deck stairs. We are having g sporadic thunder storms. No plastic was place around packages, so the box fell apart and all the wooden pieces fell and were rained on. I had a mess! I had to remove one piece at a time into home and dry it off. It took a couple people a few hours dealing with two wet opened boxes. The bed was poorly packaged and fed ex left a mess!
