As kids get older and continue to grow it's important that their clothing hangers keep up with them. "Juniors" sized hangers were designed to fill the gap between children and the larger adult sizes. I am under 5 feet, and have finally started to focus on the long-term care of my clothes. That meant new hangers and what a difference these made! I was originally looking for "petite" hangers, but when measuring my clothing from shoulder to shoulder, the junior size was a better fit. Most of my tops are XS or 2P.
