I purchased these for the living room thinking. I was going to go more Polynesian in my second home when I got new furniture. That didn’t happen so I put them in the bedroom. Simplicity at its brightest, the harper floor lamp produces plenty of ambient illumination in a slim package. The minimalistic satin steel pole body is steadied by a round metal base. Light is gently diffused through a white linen fabric shade with a frosted diffuser. An Adesso patented 300-watt double socket construction allows for two crisscrossed sockets, each holding on/off 150-watt incandescent or led bulbs which provide approximately 3 times more light than a typical torchiere. A simple high/low rotary switch is located on the shade cup to adjust the brightness. This lamp has a black cord and is smart outlet compatible. Bulbs are not included. Note: use incandescent bulbs up to 150w or dimmable led bulbs (do not use: 3-way bulbs or CFLs. We recommend using incandescent bulbs for best results achieving both settings of 50% brightness and 100% brightness with no flicker. When using led bulbs, it is common to see some flicker on the low setting (the high setting will always have no flicker). A dimmable led will minimize the low-setting flicker, but may still occur.

This lamp is beautiful, but was EXTREMELY difficult to put together. The holes in the marble base did not line up with the screws. Luckily, I’m married to a handy engineer and he reworked it somehow. But then it wobbled, so he had to add some shims. The shade was a whole other story. I read a review that was very helpful or I may have never figured that out.
