Love this invisible hardware as a modern option to traditional barn door hardware. We bought several Iron and Glass Doors and Glass Reeded Doors from Wayfair and although the doors came with traditional barn door hardware we opted to purchase this Houdini Hardware and it was a fabulous decision. We were able to add a piece of poplar to the top of the door frame and we will paint it black to match the door, to allow for the hardware to fit as you need 2 1/2 inches of width to attach the hardware. As soon as my husband sat in it, we realized the issue with the arms. To remedy this, I bought two bolster pillows so my husband can rest his arms on them. This was the only hardware I could fine with a solid rail. The kit arrived well packaged and I am impressed with the overall quality of materials and the instructions. The rail is solid, and the mouning hardware is really well designed, with adjustable spacers depending on your configuration. I did not want the metal straps on the front of the door, so I opted for the top mount configuration. I outsmarted myself and added another 1/4" to the recommended height, and I should not have done that. Use the 2" rail stops from the top of the door and you will be fine, even if you are installing over a carpet floor, like I was. I also wound up trimming the rail because I have a perpendicular wall next tot he door. I used a small hack saw, which worked OK, but it took some time and effort. Perhaps a circular grinder would have been better. Regardless, it worked out fine and looks great. I definitely recommend this hardware if you are haning a barn door.. Robert. San Diego, CA. Things I like 1. the way tension is applied when leaning backwards 2. Arm is super adjustable Things I dont like 1. You cant tilt the back to an chosen angle like other office chairs. You have to lean on the back to make the back tilt 2. Hard to see on the stock picture, but the cilindar connecting the chair to the wheel platform actually prochudes towards ground. Its tip is very closed to the ground and it will hit the ground if you have a carpet underneath. Things I regret 1. I wish I bought the version which has seat tilting 2. The hardware package only has lag bolts for wooden walls or drywall. Homacer sliding barn door hardware kit is compatible with door thickness. If you have a thinner or thicker door, please contact Homacer for the correct length of the hex bolts of the hangers, or you can get them from your local hardware store. Please also notify Homacer to put spacer extensions in the package if you have thicker doors. The spacer extension will extend the track further from the wall to fit the thicker door. If you have a door trim, you’d better put a header board that is as thick as the trim and then attach the hardware to the header board. From the top of the door to the ceiling, you need to have clearance for u-shaped bracket bypass hardware. All tracks that are undercoming in one piece. All tracks that are above are connected by two tracks using a junction plate.
