Quality is pretty low, but so is the price. It LOOKS good, but the finish is razor thin sticker material. And the MDF is not that durable. This refrigerator replaced a 22 year old Artica GE Side by Side. I had kept the Artica going for all these years, but got tired of the defrost heater burning out what I consider to be too often? I purchased OEM one's, but the last one lasted about 14 months and it was a GE one. Don't know why they don't last any better? Anyway said goodbye to the old girl that served us pretty well for those 22 years. The ice maker had failed and had developed an internal leak I could not find and fix, so we lived without that for several of it's last years. Now, this new one is HUGE at 28.3 The old one was about 25 cu. ft. Actually, I hated the dark tunnel of the Artica Side by Side. Could not find things back in there! This new one is great from that standpoint with the lighted back panel, you can see everything in there. Like the convertible part and the drawers in the freezer section. I've read that the ice makers in GE refrigerators are troublesome compared to other brands? I hope it is trouble free, but all of that is unknown just after purchase and setup. The old Artica was built like a tank. The shelving was sturdy. This new one has shelving and door trays that are a bit less robust. I hope they stand up as well as the old Profile Artica? The Samsung refrigerator fits in the same 36” space as our old 18 cf fridge. In our location we are against a side wall and a door casing so we selected the swing free clear model. The in door ice and water works great as does the ice storage tray for cubed ice in the bottom freezer section. The refrigerator is very quiet and the freezer and refrigerator sections maintain good temperatures. A frozen pizza can be placed flat in the freezer section unlike the side by side model that has no width to lay a pizza flat. Love the look and quality, two doors arrived broke. I kept the two and installed them and the system - looks good!! Waiting for wayfair to send me the two new doors. Strongly suggest opening the 4 boxes to make sure none broken. That way the delivery people can take back any broken ones in the spot. Also was hard to install, the instructions were not totally accurate, they should include a video with a contractor that they use showing you how to install.
