The sweeping concave design of the 68-inch Studio Designs Donovan Media Console makes a strong contemporary statement. Crafted from Eucalyptus veneers with contrast borders in a soft dove gray finish, the design features striking door pulls in brushed nickel. Behind the six doors are six adjustable shelves and three storage drawers. The left and right-facing drawers have removable felt liners and the center drawer is felt-lined with partitions. This design is also available in a 68-inch version with four doors.

This Media Console is absolutely stunning. I plan to use this piece of furniture as a sideboard/buffet since both of the drawers are felt-lined with one divided for silverware. The sliding bypass doors on the media center allow you to conceal all of the interior compartments, giving it the look of a decorative credenza. A vertical pattern of the contemporary fretwork design is repeated on each of the sliding doors. The left compartment has one storage drawer and one letter/legal file drawer. The middle section has three adjustable shelves. The right compartment has one full-extension storage drawer with two adjustable shelves beneath. The file and storage capabilities make this media console as appropriate for the home office space as it is the media room.

A modern early 20th-century French accents rugs in the Indian Dhurrie style, the beige field with an overall blue linear lattice forming angular flowerheads within an enlarged Greek key-pattern border. The Savonnerie antique carpet factory, located on the site of the present Musee d'Art Moderne, inherited its name from the soap-making factory it took over at the behest of Louis XIII. From 1660 until 1743 Savonnerie was a manufacturer of royale, carrying out commissions for French Aubusson rugs and carpets specifically designed for the Royal Palaces. In the 1770s, the tapestry looms at Aubusson in the Cruze Valley near Limoges were converted to produce flat-woven rugs and antique European carpets under royal warrant. No one knows precisely when European rugs weaving began in this area, but it is certain that tapestries were first woven there long before the Gothic era.
