This ten-room, fully functional birdhouse is inspired by the main pavilion of the iconic Del Coronado Hotel. A San Diego landmark, the'' Del'' has welcomed presidents, royalty, and Hollywood celebrities for over 100 years. Home Bazaar's dramatic Victorian design with its signature red roof and peek-a-boo dormers is topped off with a cupola proudly flying an American flag. This house comes equipped with a mounting base with a sleeve for setting on top of a standard 4 x 4 base. In order to attract purple martins, the recommended location of this house should be a combination of open fields and water. The house should be 12 to 14 feet high. For display purposes only, Home Bazaar recommends the column pedestal (HB-2008P.)

This bird feeder is stunning and so well made ! The brackets it comes with is definitely made for a sleeve over a 4x4, so keep that in mind ! The lighthouse birdhouse is a spot-on replica of the famous located at the easternmost point of Long Island, New York. The construction of the lighthouse was authorized by none other than President George Washington and bears the distinction of being the first public works project of the United States. The (in) famous pirate Captain Kidd is said to have buried treasure at the foot of the lighthouse, but it's yet to be found. My review is between and 3/4 star. This is a beautiful birdhouse, well made, quality materials. The issue is no easy way to clean this out at the end of the season.
