The Ispring ED2000 whole-house electronic water descaler is an innovative, computerized water conditioning system that solves hard water problems without the need for chemicals, salt, or filter cartridges by leaving the minerals in the water and preventing them from forming lime-scale deposits. It requires little maintenance as it does not need the constant salt additions or cartridge replacements that traditional water softening systems require. The ED2000 functions by wrapping 2 antenna cables around the main water pipe to form a coil, creating a complex, frequency-modulated, and electronic magnetic waveform. The ED2000 functions by wrapping two antenna cables around the main water pipe to form a coil, creating a complex, frequency-modulated, and electronic magnetic waveform. This induces an oscillating electric field into the water, resulting in the agitation of water molecules sufficient enough to trigger the release of carbon dioxide and cause the premature precipitation of calcium bicarbonate. This process naturally results in a small increase in solubility, which allows the now unsaturated water to dissolve existing scale deposits and remove them from the water system.
It’s not the most expensive descaled but so far so good. Puts on a nice light show too. The manual is well written. This appears to be manufactured in Atlanta. Not thrilled about the wall wart power supply and would had preferred an internal version.
Edit after a few months, my 20 year old plumbing has been descaling en mass. I replaced my water heater, also 20 years old. The water is coming out with the lime sentiment. It quickly settles. But I’m hoping it finishes. The product obviously works. But be ready for the purge phase. . .. Paul. St. Petersburg, FL. Tue Dec 20 2022
