You will love this vent. It's well built and works perfectly. I was initially worried about the size because my old vent measured 22 inches, and the only replacement I could find was this 21-inch version. My plan was to return it if it didn't fit. I have a round brick opening, and I was wondering how I would fill a 1-inch gap around the new vent after installation. When I went to remove the old vent from outside while on a ladder, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was only held in place with finish nails. It also had a round wooden frame attached around the outer edge that fit against the brick. I pushed the old vent into the wall cavity, and the new vent fit perfectly over the existing brick molding. After making sure it was level, I nailed it in place, applied caulk, touched up the paint, and the job was done. Yes, I did have to leave the old vent inside the wall cavity, but it wasn't causing any issues and saved me from having to remove additional material. Overall, the installation was much easier than expected, and the vent looks and works great. Highly recommended.cavity which I didn't like,but was not tearing off the brick molding to retrieve it.. Purchased the Riverwood style. Painted them but have not installed yet. They arrived primed, but primer is tacky…sticky. I have had to put 2 heavy coats of paint on them. Still painting…waiting for paint coats to dry and not be sticky either. Only concern is the shutters are not as sturdy as I expected (why the 4 stars) and hoping during installation they will not be damaged.
