We purchased this for a new home build that had a slide in range in an island. We did not want an exhaust hood that hung down from the ceiling and this one was perfect for a flush mount in the ceiling. It was priced considerably less than other brands that had white glass finishes. There are a couple discoveries we made however. It did not turn on once the power was brought to the new build. We called Awoco and were told to check in the black box under the stainless grill, for a white connection that sometimes is disconnected. That solved the problem and the unit lit up and worked with the remote and the voice commands. Customer service was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what to look for. There is one other thing to be aware of with the voice command, occasionally it picks up what it believes to be a request for action and starts talking, asking for directions. We thought we were hearing voices until we realized it was the exhaust fan talking. I purchased the LG LDTS5552S dishwasher and have experienced a persistent chemical odor since the beginning of ownership. The smell is difficult to describe precisely, but it resembles heated rubber, vinyl, petroleum products, or synthetic plastic. The odor becomes stronger as the dishwasher heats up and appears to be emitted from the lower vent area. The problem occurs even during normal operation without using the High Temp or Extra Dry settings. Over the past year I have tried numerous troubleshooting steps, including cleaning the filters repeatedly, running cycles without detergent, using dishwasher cleaning cycles, and removing additional plastic accessories from inside the machine. None of these actions resolved the issue. The dishes themselves do not retain the odor, but the heated air emitted by the dishwasher does. The smell is strong enough to travel beyond the kitchen and can sometimes be noticed on the second floor of the house. After more than a year of trying to live with this issue, I have stopped using the dishwasher altogether and returned to washing dishes by hand because I am not comfortable having my family continuously exposed to the odor. What concerns me most is that this odor appears whenever the appliance is heated, suggesting that materials inside the unit may be releasing volatile compounds into the air. I do not know whether LG has evaluated the long-term impact of breathing these emissions during routine daily use, but I believe this is a legitimate concern that deserves attention. I am disappointed because otherwise the dishwasher performs well. If LG is aware of this issue or has a solution, I would genuinely appreciate a response. I recently purchased a new dryer and have been disappointed with both the design and overall performance. The biggest issue is the venting system. The vent connection feels poorly engineered, making installation more difficult than it should be, and airflow does not seem efficient. Even with a properly cleaned vent line, the dryer struggles to circulate heat effectively. Drying times are much longer than expected. A normal-sized load often requires two or even three cycles before clothes are fully dry, which wastes both time and energy. Heavier items like towels and bedding come out damp around the edges and need additional drying. The build quality also feels underwhelming for a new appliance. Some components seem lightweight and not very durable, especially around the lint filter and vent connection areas. For the price, I expected a much more reliable and better-designed product. Overall, this dryer has been frustrating to use due to the poor venting design, inconsistent drying performance, and excessive drying times.
