I am very happy with this fixture. It is large but still works well in rooms with lower ceiling height (9' shown). It is heavy and well made. It also lets off a good amount of light. It is like a spotlight....shines directly downward and does not emit any light to the sides so basically we just have one spotlight in the middle of our room.
