She loves this double wall oven with the french doors. She really appreciates having easy access to the oven without the normal pull down door between her and whatever treat she has in the oven for us. The controls are easy to understand with just a slight learning curve, and she loves the built in thermometer and that it turns the oven off when food reaches the set tempurature. It is a lovely painting by the artist, however the gloss on it is terrible. It looks like a third an inch of dried Vaseline on the art with grooves on it. I hate how glossy it is. It catches the light and glares back so it’s hard to see the painting. In some parts there are globs of gloss that look like they were accidentally made. It’s got streaks and lines of texture and it’s so gross and distracting from the image itself. The frame is also overboard huge and distracting from the painting. What a shame. Circe Invidiosa is a painting by John William Waterhouse completed in 1892. It is his second depiction, after Circe Offering the Cup to Ulysses (1891), of the classical mythological character Circe. This particular mythological portrayal is based on Ovid's tale in Metamorphoses, wherein Circe turns Scylla into a sea monster, solely because Glaucus scorned the enchantress' romantic advances in hopes of attaining Scylla's love instead. Waterhouse later returned to the subject of Circe a third time with The Sorceress (1911). Circe Invidiosa is part of the collection of the Art Gallery of South Australia, which also owns Waterhouse's 1883 The Favourites of the Emperor Honorius.
