The warm white glow is soft but still bright enough for stairs, hallways, closets, or a bedroom at night. I use these on a staircase that has a turn and sometimes gets dark at the turned stairway. They have remained charged for a month and always come on and are triggered from a good distance. I like that they are rechargeable and magnetic, so they can be removed easily when they need charging. The motion sensor works well, and the light looks smooth without harsh dots. My goodness! What a great piece of furniture! Exactly what I wanted to match an inherited set. Packaging and instructions were outstanding. Even though instructions states “requires two people for an hour assembly”, it took me four hours. I took my time, of course, while listening to music and having a few brews. Make sure you verify the number of panels and fittings as directed before attempting by yourself. Also, place a drop cloth or blanket on floor as they recommend. I gave this four stars because it arrived in a smashed box and the mount and arm were not attached. It took a while to put them together.
