Installing this in a dry-walled garage, for instance, will take some doing including cutting away drywall and add 2x4 supports. I've seen these newer afwalls being used hundreds of times since being introduced in 2008, and they have been nothing but really reliable and sensory-friendly for people on the spectrum. Unfortunately, there's a vocal group of haters on the internet who do not like this generation of afwall, but pay them no mind. The bowl of this toilet is deep enough compared to the older model that felt too shallow, like I was sitting on a clogged toilet. The new model, also, avoids siphoning out unnecessarily when you flush it, unlike the previous model that can do so unexpectedly and unnerve some people. We’re in the start of a much needed full bath remodel and one of our wish list items is a smart toilet after experiencing one on vacation. We have not yet installed this one but wanted to get it unpacked and give it some “test sits” since the shape is somewhat different than your typical elongated toilet. The seat feels slightly different in width but the more noticeable difference being the length of the opening in th seat. From front to back it’s 2” shorter. In fact the overall depth is 2” shorter which will be nice in our small bathroom. We want to do some more dry runs comparing the fell of this shorter style before we commit to installing it. The look is very nice and the toilet is pretty heavy. The finishes are smooth and high end in appearance.
