I take care of entryway planters at our little church. The ones I have had there for six years had come apart and were leaking at the bottom. While I have not yet brought this to Church or put potting mix in or planted it yet still chilly at night in Minnesota, looking at the construction of this one I am very highly satisfied. Great quality, look, size, shape, etc. I found a similar/same item (but under a different brand) on the Wayfair site in black, but stalled to order and sale price increased from $120-ish to $166.99 in one day. Was very bummed until I found these for $104 each - the photo, dimensions and description were identical (except for color). Thought I was settling, but the brownstone color is beautiful - not a chocolate brown like I feared, just a neutral grayish-brown that's slightly speckled and really looks great. Attached is a photo next to a black container for reference. Also love that the thick lip around the planter makes it feel substantial and give it extra strength, even though its a 1-ply heavy gauge plastic pot. There are two round cut outs near the top at the back of the rain barrel and I assume that’s for venting air as the barrel fills as well as when water is dispensed. Or I suppose it could be for overflow There was no diagram of the rain barrel explaining all the nuances. We've had a Good Ideas rain barrel (80 gal) for about three years now and have been really pleased with it. So we just purchased two of this model (our original one is no longer available) and I'm really happy with how well the dark gray matches our home's charcoal exterior, since they will be visible from the street. Seems to be made of good quality except the screen on top. In less than a week outside it looks like the screws have already begun eroding. It is also concerning that it doesn’t sit flush with the top allowing bugs to get inside. Definitely not interested in a mosquito breeding ground.
