Use the Allen key that looks like a wine bottle opener! These chairs are beautiful, sturdy and very comfortable, but they take a few hours to put together. The first chair took me forever to assemble, but I used it as a learning experience. I learned that I could have saved myself a ton of time if I had used the provided allen key with the red top (looks like a wine bottle opener), instead of the conventional one that was also provided. I also learned that I needed help from someone else for a few stages in the process because it saves a lot of time. Things went a lot smoother and faster when I put together the second chair. I was really concerned about what I was going to receive based on some of the reviews. Needless to say, my husband and I were extremely happy with the quality, size, ease of assembly. Well machined, every part fit together like a glove. They are not child sized as someone wrote in their review. My husband is 6ft, 170lbs and he fits in it with room to spare, as do I. All pieces were well packaged and in perfect condition. You do need to assemble them, but pretty quick and easy to do so. It goes quicker with 2 people. They are comfortable to sit in but I do think a cushion is still required. It is solid once assembled but in the beginning does sort of pop and settle but I think that is due to the resin material and the metal screws adjusting to the movement.
