This product is designed with a lift rod to switch between the faucet and hand shower. Unfortunately the engineers can not figure it out, why we have to use a pair of pliers to lift the rod. we use the bathtub very seldom and try to not use the hand shower because the rod is not movable without a tool and the lift rod's knob can sheer off after awhile. Great grab bar but it came with no instructions, the cheap screws rounded out (I had to go get good hardware to install it) and the middle post is impossible to screw in properly because the decorative cover plate can't be moved far enough out of the way to allow the 2" screws to be sunk straight in.
