Super soft and the no slip backing is pretty good. I like the long runner I bought as the pattern - which is kind of busy - has space to breathe. The colors are a bit more purple than I thought but overall it works in my kitchen. The smaller one I bought (18 x 24) is not as great as the pattern fels cluttered.
