Was tempted to give this 3 stars, but it’s probably closer to 3.5 so I’ll round up. Overall, I’m very happy with how this dresser looks and the size. It was pretty hard finding something that we liked but also had round corners to make it safe for our 14 month old. There is a lot I wish was different about this dresser though. For one, it took my husband about 4-5hrs to build because it had so many steps and parts (and he is normally good at putting these things together). Second, for how large each drawer looks on the outside, it’s actually much smaller in width and height so you loose a lot more storage than you think (see photos). Lastly, I was expecting soft close drawers because they’re so standard these days. It’s not a smooth close and is actually quite stiff the close at the very end for a full shut. I recently purchased the Donati 9-Drawer Dresser and wanted to share my experience for anyone considering it. First, be prepared—this is definitely a project if you’re assembling it on your own. I started putting it together around 7 PM, worked until about 2 AM, then picked it back up the next day around 1 PM and finished around 6 PM. It’s time-consuming and can feel a bit challenging at times, but I actually enjoyed the process and found it rewarding to see it come together. There were a few minor issues with some of the wood panels having small chips, but nothing too noticeable once everything was assembled. Overall, the dresser is very sturdy and feels well-made. The finished look is absolutely beautiful and makes the effort worth it. If you’re patient and don’t mind spending the time assembling it, I would definitely recommend it. The furniture is very beautiful and really stands out because of its finish — the wood appears to be of excellent quality, which adds a lot of value to the product in the space. Assembly, although not difficult, took longer than expected. It took me more than 5 hours to complete, so it’s worth being prepared or having some help. One area that could be improved is the drawer functionality. Opening and closing them is not as smooth as it should be. I believe that, due to the depth, the drawer slides don’t feel very stable, which affects the overall user experience. Beautiful dresser, I used the pro service to put it together and it was worth every penny because the dresser was too heavy for me and my husband to handle. I have noticed in the last couple of days, the dresser drawers are off center, they open and close but the middle wood panel is not flush, which is a defect in the drawers.
