I'm happy with the bunk bed. But my kids are ecstatic. They were celebrating it for like 30 minutes. And the best part is they sleep better now. Putting it together was as difficult as advertised and due to my fitness level, I was sore for days after. The instructions were thorough, though could have been better as some steps could be merged with later ones to make the construction easier to accomplish. And the slats portion could be improved significantly as some were shorter than others. Those steps also didn't convey that the position of each wasn't fixed. So I had to measure the bed frame and put marks down to ensure I did it evenly. I would have expected markings on the frame to indicate where the slats would go. Our 2 and 4 year old girls love this bunk bed. It's low enough on the top where they're not scared. There's not much room to sit up on the bottom but that's expected. Really nice bed…very sturdy once it was completed…the instructions could be a little clearer for putting the slats on the trundle and storage rack, but otherwise really easy to set up. It’s a great bed for the price. However, some pieces had scratches, but luckily only in places that are not noticeable. The trundle could be improved in the way that it rolls out (better designhardware), it drags on the floor with no weight on it at all. The king mattress BARELY fits.
