Seems solid and looks as expected. It was somewhat scratched and marked up out of the box and I don't think it was due to shipping or packaging. It was packaged well and the boxes were not damaged. The bed took me 6 hours to assemble by myself. I would look at the entire way to assemble starting at step 20. For me it was easier to do the top bunk matress bars first. The top bunk is not very attractive once its made so I inserted a base under the mattress to tuck the sheets under. (Not shown in photo). I really like the features of the bunkbed and the size fits our space perfectly. The shelves are nice and the LED strips are cool for the bottom bunk. However, some flaws - The product is advertised as real wood, but the only real wood is the 4-post frame and bed slats. The sides and shelving are particleboard and thus are cheaper material. - Because it’s not 100 real wood I think it’s overpriced, but in the end would probably buy it again because of the shelving feature and the size fit our space perfectly. - LED strips only extend two sides of the frame and you can only control them with an app on your phone! (No remote!!) - The bottom drawer is very shallow and barely holds anything, maybe a couple of books. It also isn’t on a track so it slides all over the place. We ended up not using it. - The shelves are shallow and hold small fidget toys and water bottles. Very pleased with the finished product. I dont believe there was a single piece of solid wood in the whole kit but the quality was very good for the price. The pre drilled holes for cross dowels were often occluded and have to be scraped deeper with a screw driver which was the single most frustrating slow part of the assembly process. Some holes had leftover wood that wasn’t punctured and removed completely but over all, the paint was flawless. Not one part was missing. No cracks or issues with wood quality except a little warping on some of the flat rails used for the banister but once you start tightening everything it flattens out just fine. Bed feels sturdy. Stairs feel sturdy and solid. The boys love their new bed. We noticed the hardware was exposed but the finish is actually really nice, gold tone. Looks pretty cool. Would recommend 1010. Well... Good thing Im handy! Ive assembled my fair share of boxed furniture throughout the years. I knew I was going to be in trouble when I opened up the box of hardware, and it was not all in their own bags or separated. There was three or four different sets of screws or hardware per bag that you had to sort or find tiny little paper tags that identified each one. Yee-haw! This bed took a lot of my patience, experience, and several hours. The instructions were very confusing at times, theres no detailed description, just pictures. My bed frame had mislabeled pieces that created a lot of confusion. I also had a shortage of no less than 12 different pieces of hardware. Again, thankfully Im handy and had stuff laying around. Like a previous review said, the instructions for the steps and doors are wrong and need to be switched. You either have to do some good math or guess how wide apart to attach all the slats and drawer stops. All the exposed hardware is kind of a bummer as well. This wasnt a hard assembly, just tedious and frustrating due to the instructions and hardware. Even though it seems like Im complaining, I am very happy with the bed. We have very little storage sleeping options in our house and this bed solves several of those issues. Excellent solution for my girls' bedroom. They are both young so they share the bottom for now but they love their bed. The side shelf is large enough for a small TV that has helped to make their bedtime much more pleasant. Plenty of storage and it seems like it will last a long time. Assembly took a whole day and some parts were a bit confusing but overall not bad. I added some felt feet under the whole thing so it doesn't scratch up our hardwood and it also helps keep it quieter if they're playing in their bed.
