Downrods can be joined together using a downrod coupler (DC-xx) to make lengths greater than 72 in. and may also be shortened in the field.

The ideal height for a chandelier over a dining table is 30 to 34 inches. Mine measured 41 inches. I needed to lower the chandelier 6 to 7 inches high with a matching gold finish.
