First the item is very heavy in the box. If you are by yourself, I recommend getting help or open the box where it's at and bring it in piece by piece. As far as assembly went, it was by far one of the easier pieces this self-proclaimed DIY expert has done. Make sure you have a decent sized space to work with. There is some hammering needed for the frame. It comes with a small mallet but if you have a regular sized rubber mallet, I encourage you to use it. Depending on your height you may need a step ladder. I'm 5'2 and was able to put this together in just under 2 hours. Outside of that the instructions are clear, parts are labeled well and it basically just snaps together. No bolts or allen key needed. I actually plan on buying another one.. Jennifer. Hepzibah, WV. I would send it back for a replacement but Wayfair charges for shipping it back to the price of the item. The carriers beat up the package during transit for sure.
