I'm using it as a small office/desk. I had assemblers/handymen put it together and it took about 1.5 hours for 2 guys - that cost $220. I did not use the hanger/clothes pole. I got 2 black laminate shelves from Menards that are 12" deep to use as additional storage (see photo - top 2 shelves are NOT included in the purchase - I added these such that I can store more office supplies). I also had a hole put through the back of the unit for my printer cord which will sit on the top of the drawer. My laptop will go on center shelf. Cost of chest is very effective and materials are not the greatest but it does not look cheap when completed. I wouldn't store this anywhere with high humidity. We received this around the 16th but decided (after seeing the 26 page book) to come back and pay a pro. Best decision ever! He was finished in 1 & 1/2 hours! (It had one deep scratch on the top but unless you're on a step stool or very tall, you won't notice), otherwise it's beautiful and the white matches our new bed perfectly! I did add a motion sensor light to each side and will probably add a few more under the shelves. (The strong smell others have mentioned was there ... until we turned our air purifier on (directly in front of the wardrobe) for several hours.) Love it! Third one of these that I have purchased. I found them easy to assemble, and they have a sturdy structure - love that they are solid wood (except for the backing). Have stained all with Minwax wood finish oil-based ‘Colonial Maple’ Semi-transparent interior stain. They look great ! Though the boxes had encountered some bumps and bruises, the contents within each of my shipments remained safe from harm - I would attribute that to the solid packaging.
