Lately I have been on a baked donut kick. They are so easy to make and they make a big impression! A few month's ago I was experimenting with using box cake mix to make them and I have perfected that recipe. While baking from scratch is great you don't always have the time or all the ingredients.
Now baking a donut, instead of frying, and also making it with cake mix will create more of a cake like consistency. It's still delicious!
Donuts
1 Box of Funfetti Cake Mix
1 Cup Water
¼ Cup of Vegetable oil
1 Egg
1 Storage Bag or Pastry Bag
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray donut pan and set aside. In a medium bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil and egg. With a hand or stand mixer mix the ingredients on low.
Once mixed spoon the batter into the pastry bag. If you don't have a pastry bag don't worry use a storage bag and cut the tip of the bag when ready to fill the donut pan. Fill each donut about ¾ of the way.
Bake for 9-10 mins at 350 degrees. Donuts will spring back from your touch when fully baked. Let cool slightly before removing from pan. Then place on cooling rack.
