If there’s anyone who’s earned a break in the last year, it’s the country singer and songwriter Cam. The California-born musician has toured with Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley, earned Grammy and Country Music Awards nominations for her platinum single “Burning House,” and received an American Music Awards nomination for Favorite Country Female Artist… all in addition to planning a wedding and moving into a new home. Her idea of a perfect day off? “Spending time with my husband, Adam. Hanging out with our dogs,” she laughs. “Being on the road so much it just feels so great to go home and unwind.”

With all of Cam’s travel, however, finding time to furnish their Nashville house proved challenging, so the pair jumped at the chance to partner with Wayfair on makeovers of their bedroom and ground-floor hangout room. “Cam and Adam have great style and enjoy decorating their space,” explains Wayfair’s Donna Garlough, “but their schedules didn’t leave them with a lot of time to complete their décor.”

Enter Wayfair. Cam shopped the site for everything she wanted, from California-themed wall art to a mid-century-style bed and a vintage-inspired fridge, then tapped the site’s editors to help her pull it all together. Scroll on to see the cheerful, eclectic mix in her finished spaces, and to hear Cam’s takes on decorating, finding inspiration, and more.

Use three words to describe your décor style.
Minimalist. Cozy. Peaceful.

Tell us more about your signature color, yellow. What attracts you to it, and what does it say about you?
Yellow is just a positive, friendly color. I find that I feel happier and am in a better mood when I'm wearing yellow, but also that people are nicer to me when I'm wearing yellow—so I'm just drawn to it. Also, I'm from California, so yellow for me is like me getting to have a little bit of my California sunshine wherever I am.

How important was it to you to incorporate yellow into your bedroom and living room design?
I definitely wanted pieces of yellow, but not for it to be an overwhelming amount. I loved how Wayfair helped me pick some splashes of yellow, like in the throw pillows.

Was there anything you felt you just had to have?
I really wanted to incorporate pieces of California into the design, since my husband and I are both from there and we were married there.

What’s your favorite part about the bedroom? How about the living room?
My favorite part about my bedroom is the rug. In the hangout room, I love my new SMEG fridge!

What are some design trends you’re loving right now?
Mid-century modern and Scandinavian design.

You got your start as a songwriter. What inspires your process and influences you these days?
I kind of get inspiration all over the place. I’m really inspired by artists that try to progress their genre, like Kendrick Lamar, Sturgill Simpson, Blake Mills and Bon Iver. Also, I love me some HAIM!

Where is your favorite place to write music?
I'm not too picky. Somewhere that I feel comfortable and at peace.

What first attracted you to country music?
The lyrics and storytelling. I love being able to tell a story and express emotions in songs, and there's just so much of that in country music.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Definitely a morning person. Adam and I love drinking coffee in our rocking chairs on the porch in the morning.

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Let the dogs out and start the coffee.

Being in the public eye, how important is it for you to have a comfortable space at home?
Being on the road so much it just feels so great to go home and have a space where I can unwind and relax. I spend so much time on airplanes or on the bus with multiple other people, so I love coming home to just my husband and our dogs. It helps me recharge for the road again.
