I love this table. I use it in my dining room. It has small gaps nbetween the slats. I was afraid this might cause problems with drinks spilling but it hasn't. This Adjustable Dining Table highlights reclaimed materials and industrial design. The adjustable dining table features a reclaimed frame and panel construction, a teak square tabletop, and reclaimed industrial cast iron parts for the impressive base. The teak tabletop is treated with a hand-applied lacquer for durability and to enhance the unique characteristics of each plank of wood. The industrial base includes a recycled cast iron crank mechanism to increase the table height. The table surface is hand-sanded to create a smoother surface, however, due to the nature of the reclaimed material, there may be some variations in texture. Absolutely love this table. It's very solid, quality teak. The paint job is amazing. I love the feel of the tabletop, but I have ordered a piece of glass to go overtop of the table only because there are cracks and gaps that are part of it's charm, but could collect food. I was a little anxious the table may be too busy, but it's so perfect and brings everything in the room together. I am so glad I went for it! I was able to assemble in about 20 minutes by myself. I bought teak oil to finish it but decided it arrived in the most beautiful raw look. It has been 3 years with this as our family dinner table and we have zero issues with it. Other reviewers stated issues with outdoor use on the East Coast. This is indoors on the West Coast FWIW. When moving, do NOT lift it up, shifting all weight to one set of legs. This handcrafted 84-inch dining table has a reclaimed teak wood top featuring clean edges, and the water-based catalyzed weathered finish on the wood offers durability while showcasing the natural grain of the wood. Affixed to either end of the base of the tabletop are two rods that fit into the cast iron base where the industrial crank mechanism is connected to an antique-styled handle, allowing the table's top to be raised or lowered. Just because it’s not crystal clear in the description: This table has a working mechanism that can drop it to chair height and raise it to high-top with locking hand-bolts. Also, someone commented that the table top is not “sturdy” - that is not true. You could perform an autopsy on a 300 .lb man on this table. This table features striking spider-like architectural legs in the industrial metal and a gorgeous reclaimed teak wood top. While this wood features many color variations, the top remains very smooth to the touch. All of the unique markings, crevasses, fractures, and color variations demonstrate the rich history this wood has. Having stood the test of time and weathered many storms, this wood has proven its durability.

It's definitely looks different than the pictures. There is far more variation in color than what I was expecting. The worst part is that the table was not finished and I had to finish it myself, it is unusable as a dining table when it is received. I gave it three stars because even though it is different than described and unfinished, the legs matched the description, the wood seems good quality and durable and the look/style is growing on me..
