Best Small Dining Tables With Reviews

I am in a small condo and needed a smaller than usual dining table, specifically a smaller depth of the table, yet big enough to host 6. This 31.5" depth (fully open) table is a perfect size. I made sure to get chairs where the width of the seat was no more than 18"-19" max in order for them to fit on one side of the table legs when necessary. Putting this together was fairly simple by comparison to some I've done. It took about an hour. Just be sure to use the correctly labeled Bag of screws for each application. All the bags are labeled so just pay attention. The directions are the typical "all pictures". I felt really sorry for the FedEx delivery guy. I'm on the third floor and he carried this heavy (75 lbs) box up three flights of stairs because it wouldn't fit in the elevator of my building. It can't be fun delivering these heavy, oversized packages. But I will admit, the table was packaged really, really well. Sure, there was some slight expected wear and tear to the box just from being shipped, but it had no impact on the table inside. The only thing that I thought was a little "hokey" was the faux distressing they added to the design on the table top. At first, when I opened the box, I thought it was a defect. I was ready to report it. Then I took a closer look and realized it was "distressed". The gray faux wood finish is actually nice looking (considering it's just some sort of flat, plastic laminate). The printed distressing was unnecessary and could have been given a little more thought by the designer. But once I realized it was not a defect and just a "printed" version of "distressing", I'm okay with it now. The table does look nice. And if the table top ever gets damaged through normal wear and tear over time, I can always paint it if needed. For me, this table was exactly what I was looking for...something not as deep as a standard dining table, not as narrow as a bar table, and could seat 6 people when needed...and is a standard dining table height (as opposed to bar height). This does the trick for me and I'm really happy with my purchase.

I assembled this table today. The pedestal component is beautiful. The table top is a blond color which goes with my furniture. There seems to be a striped pattern to the top. The pedestal color I ordered was denim but it is more a greyish blue rather than a deep blue as shown on the website. But I loved the color. More importantly the table was easy to assemble. It is really heavy and sturdy and not wobbly at all. I’m really pleased with the table. I paired it with Kimari 5 - Light Classic / Traditional Shaded Chandelier, which looks amazing For chairs, I bought the Aliha Metal Cross Back Side Chair. I thought that with the same name and color it would be a great match but , while the chairs were great - and although not small, they were too small for that table - and that didn’t balance well with the table.

I bought this table along with the brown metal chairs. The end result is great. The brown chairs matched beautifully with the antique table. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the condition upon arrival. The box looked lol like it had been opened and returned about 10 times. Even the pieces had been opened so we were concerned we didn’t have enough to put together. Also, the corner has damage (probably from all the shipments). And, the most offensive part was apparently someone tested chemicals underneath the table. Unprofessional. I would expect more damage control on the part of Wayfair. Despite those realities, We are going to stick with the product. We happen to like these Trent Austin designs. We have a few pieces and they all blend in quite well.

Haven't got it together. I was very careful with the color, contacted Wayfair to find out if it was taupe or gray as the photo's of the gray table showed it as gray and then the table top when I checked looked taupe. I contacted Wayfair 3 times and was told it was a soft gray. The table is definitely taupe. I'm not sure I will keep it as I wanted it to be gray. Still deciding. just unsure how to send this back without it costing an arm and a leg if I don't keep it. I'm disappointed for sure. If you check the website you will see what I mean. The pic with the chairs looks grey and the pic of the table top looks taupe.

We love this table. It is exactly what we wanted. Large enough to play board games on with lots of room for components, sturdy enough that it doesn't shake it someone bumps it, but also cozy enough for family dinners. Currently my husband is using it as a makeshift desk while working from home and it is plenty big enough for his printer, computer, extra monitor, and all his paperwork. We are really pleased with this purchase. It was super easy to put together. As others have mentioned, it is heavy and large and you will need at least two people to set it upright once the legs are on. The leaf is easy to add or remove and the mechanism to do so is easy to slide. We are very happy.

I am not sure of how the table will look yet in my kitchen because it was damaged when I received it- I am writing the review however, based on the customer service I received. I am 36 weeks pregnant, had a nightmare kitchen remodel that lasted a month and a half & finally was able to open up the box with my brand new kitchen table that would complete my kitchen & let my family and I finally have a meal on a real table! Come to find, after opening the box, the top of the table was cracked- well after cursing, screaming and crying (pregnancy hormones and lack of patience) I went on the website, answered a few questions in the "damaged, defective item area" and just like that a new table was sent out & I did not have to hassle with returning the old one! SERIOUSLY!?! Over and above my expectations of customer service.... Thank you so much Wayfair for uncomplicating a potentially complicating circumstance & for not giving this pregnant lady a heart attack : )

So far so good. We bought the grey table. The legs have a more painted grey (blue grey) color to them where as the table top has more of the brown wood tone coming through so it doesn’t look as grey - which is what we hoped for. It was a toss up between the brown and the grey option. We didn’t want the brown to end up being the more red/orange brown so we went with the grey which has a more muted grey brown look to it. The size is perfect for our space. (72” round in an octagon dining room). The underneath is where you can see the grey color they used to paint the wood. So it isn’t blended as well as the top but that’s ok as the top is what we were most concerned about. Other than they - it came in two pieces. Super easy assembly (it came with the white glove service where delivery also put it together and set it up). Very easy process. Highly recommend this table. Just can’t speak to the difference in colors as we took a chance and luckily we liked the one we chose. I’m still a little intrigued as to what the true brown color table looks like.

I have to find someone to help me put this together after discovering that the assembly option was not available for me. Not sure why. Was told that "maybe they didn't have anyone available in my area". Then was told they would provide someone at no cost after my payment for assembly was refunded without explanation. Well, I will opt out of buying anything that needs assembly from this site going forward, even if I purchase anything in the future, assembly required or not. Very disappointed because I had heard so many good things about Wayfair from so many of my friends. Anyway, either I will try to assemble this on my own (shaking in my boots) or try to find a maintenance guy at the building here to help me after hours. Table looks perfect for my place, so I am not giving the table itself a bad rating. I just had to pick a star.

Update - we did receive the missing post and put the table together ourselves. The table is very nice and we like the texture on top. It is darker than the photo - a very dark brown almost black color. There is no red in the table which is what we wanted. It's a good size - six can fit easily if chairs aren't huge and I think we can squeeze in 7 or 8 if we have company. Overall happy - just took off one star for missing piece and having to assemble ourselves. I will have to update later, but we received table today without the middle post so our "white glove" delivery couldn't happen as that part was necessary to assemble. Now we have to wait 3 weeks to get that and I'm not sure, but it sounded like we will have to put it together now. Kind of a bummer as we considered free white glove delivery as being included in the price. The delivery team was awesome and I'm sure they would have done a great job given the chance! We will update the star rating once we get the missing part and see how difficult it is to assemble (and how stable it is).

Very nice table. Not too heavy, not too cheap in the overall build, yet very easy to put together. I've had it for about 9-10 months now and it is being used every day many times. We have a formal dining room, but with just three people, we usually hang out right by this table and enjoy our meals sitting in the ear in kitchen area. I wipe this table down approximately 4 times a day and witg a toddler drawing all over the place all the time, jamming forks into the table top ... this table is simply not going anywhere. Because of said toddler, I don't see myself spending a lot on furniture, but still like to keep things somewhat stylish ... so this table was an order I'd do again and again. Good on my wallet and it's simply not going anywhere. Still looks new and doesn't even wobble (no rug, currently, got messy eaters) if at least expect a wobble or something, but nope :-) ... love it very much and can only recommend it. Oh yeah and shipping? It was here within it was either 2 or three days. I remember having to wait over the weekend for the chairs and the table was long assembled and waiting for his friends to arrive haha. Hope this helps!

I'm entirely in love with this table. I didn't give it five stars because there is an issue that people should know. It's about the butterfly extension, which is not designed properly. The four screws used to hold the extension brackets to the main table are inadequate. One of the screws fell out as I unpacked the table and two were stripped so they couldn't be tightened properly. I was able to engage the extension and I expect to leave it that way. But if you're intending on changing the table size with any frequency you'd likely want to use larger diameter screws or fill the holes with wood filler. I may do this anyway. I also didn't like that there are no instructions for engaging the extension. You can figure it out but some guidance would be nice. It really takes two people to change the table size and two are highly recommended for putting the table together initially, though I managed by myself. Basically, after unpacking you have to attach the legs with provided nuts and bolts. I'd say the design of the butterfly extension is the main flaw and could definitely use a design adjustment. The table is totally my style. A light-to-medium finish with a slight wash of gray. It gives the appearance of unfinished but has a smooth protective coating. Not rough, in fact silky-smooth, but you can feel the exaggerated wood grain with your hands. It's rustic so the level of the extension does not exactly meet the level of the table in all places but that's the style and part of the rustic look I enjoy. The difference in height is slight. The table is very solid, heavy and sturdy. I think it's very handsome and it's hard to get a sturdy rustic table at a reasonable price these days. Delivery was excellent. I paid to have the very heavy box delivered right inside my door and that's what happened. The delivery people were courteous and knew what they were doing. Though the box had many dings the table was well-protected and had no damage. This table was out of stock for a long time and after coming back in stock the price increased significantly. I still feel it's worth it.

Edit: Wayfair customer service is amazing! They refunded my money, and then sent me a new table. I will definitely be ordering more from Wayfair in the future! I was so excited when I found this table, so I quickly placed my order. It was delivered a few months ago, but I wasn’t able to open it because we were in the middle of a remodel. I just opened it up today, and I am so upset! It is damaged in multiple places on the table top and on the metal piece that holds the table up. I went online immediately to see if I could return it, but it says I am passed the return date. $250 down the drain... Happy Mother’s Day to me :( I am keeping my fingers crossed that Wayfair will still return this for me, and give me a full refund. If so, I will update my review.

My husband and I purchased the round dual drop leaf dining table with the natural top and white base finish. It fits perfectly in our little breakfast nook. Four seat comfortably when both leaves are extended but we can fit five easily as well. The table shipped quickly; it actually arrived a day earlier than I thought it would (probably has more to do with UPS making late deliveries). I am giving this table four stars for several reasons: 1) the legs aren't as substantial as I would have liked. They aren't bad but they cheapen the look. If they weren't so "flat" it would really add to the quality. 2) one of the leaves does not open flush to the table top. It is a bit irritating. 3) the packaging was very secure but in order to accomplish that they stapled strapping to the bottom of the table. The staples are made of soft metal and broke off when I tried removing them leaving sharp shards behind. This would not normally be an issue since its on the bottom of the table but we have a small child that might scratch her head.Pros: solid wood, pretty color, perfect size, good price, easily assembledCons: leaf not flush with top, packaging difficult to remove, legs look cheap

1.Table is beautiful solid wood.. 2.no knots or imperfections in the wood... 3.the center support is one solid piece that was masterfully created on a lathe. 4. I ordered the unfinished and will paint it with a clear lacquer (if you’re not handy, order it with a finish) 5. very simple to put together and all tools are included ( I used a battery powered drill with assorted hex head driver bits... no worries if you have no tools, you’ll just need the tools provided and some elbow grease) 6. very sturdy once assemble despite simplicity of assembly 7 FYI 30’ is small but I knew what I was getting, I live in a small nyc apartment and only host 2 at the table. SUMMARY. This wood was highest grade and completely free of knots, it’s ashame people order it with a coat of paint rather than a stain l. If I tried to duplicate this craftsmanship in a workshop it would cost quadruple what I paid in lumber and manhours. Very nice piece.

I did not realize that it only had one hinged panel when I ordered it, I was under the impression there was one on both ends. The finish on the table was very nice wood and had no gouges, holes or was splintered. The holes to attach the panel to the table were so close to the edge they all had to be moved and redone, or they would have splintered and broken as the screws are much bigger than the holes. I was not able to do that myself and had to hire someone to do it which worked out ok. No one will ever see it as the hinges are even and the table will always be used with a table cloth in place. I still wish it had panels on both ends but that is my fault for not seeing that when ordering. It is a nice size for 2-3 and we have squeezed 4 people around it once.

Big kudos to wayfair and the distributor of this table! While the color is a little different than the picture it is a beautiful table, although with the first one I recieved, the tabletop was slanted and I couldnt figure out why.. so I contacted wayfair via their chat feature and was told someone would get back to me after they reached out to the distributor. I got a call a few days later from Becky and she told me the distributor chalked it up to a manufacturing defect and they would send me a replacement table at no cost and no return necessary. The new table came in a few days (amazing!) And is PERFECT! No slant and looks great with my new wayfair chairs! You can sort of see the slant in the old table behind the new one in the first picture, I sent them a photo with a level on it to show proof of said slant.

Beautiful table, but I purchased the 60 inch because it wasn't too heavy according to the Weights & Measurements on the webpage. Says 46 l bs, but the table is extremely heavy, probably over 150 lbs. I don't have anyone to help me lift it upright, may have to pay someone to do it for me. One more issue, as another reviewer mentioned, the legs are attached to the bottom of the table with heavy straps stapled with industrial staples. When I tried to pry off the staples, a couple broke and left a tiny sharp stub sticking out of the wood. Someone could scratch their knees on them. I recommend you just cut off the straps and leave the staples in the table bottom. So, 1 star off for the wrong weight and staples. I purchased the antique gray. Also, if you buy this color table, don't be alarmed at the color of the bottom of the table when you open the box. The underside looks like a French country blue, but the top and legs are gray. Assembly was a breeze, you just screw the legs in with the washers and bolts provided. I would definitely recommend this lovely sturdy table, but be aware that it will require 2 people to lift it upright and the staples should probably be left on.

I wish I could give a 5 star rating . I love my new tables ! They arrived in perfect shape and on time but , my reason for the 4 star is that on both deliveries , the little package that contained the bolts and washers to install the table legs with was not stapled well at all all of the hardware was floating around inside the box. The tape which held the box together had loosened which allowed half of the hardware to fall out. I found some on the walkway but had to go to the hardware store to replace what was missing . It was not convenient to make the drive and to try to match everything up but Our local hardware store had what we needed . Now that every is put together ...I am very happy with my my tables and will order from Wayfair again , but ask them to please tell the workers that staple the hardware bag to the table underside to make sure the bag is sealed so the contents don't get lost .

This is a perfect urban scale table for small spaces! I purchased it because almost every review I read was great. The only thing I saw other buyers disappointed in was the color of the legs with many stating they were lime green. Mine were white as described on the website. It pairs well with many different types of chairs. I love the groves in the top that create a rustic farmhouse look. I don't know how well the table top surface will hold up against moisture, heat and cold. I use coasters and trivets to protect the surface. I wish they listed more in the description about the tolerance of the table top surface and how it holds up against warm bowls and serving dishes and cold items and glass moisture. Having that info would be very helpful. Either way, It's a cute quaint versatile table perfect for small spaces and pairs well with many styles. Very pleased. Also, it literally took less than 10min to assemble and the free awesome tools that came with it made it even easier.
