Best Panel Beds With Reviews

I love this bed frame! Before buying this frame, I looked at so many other bed frames and I read so many reviews! Last week, when I was ready to make a purchase, I came across this bed and I saw that it was on sale! This frame was delivered so fast! When it first arrived, I was worried because the main shipping box had a hole in it. It looked as if someone had taken a golf club and hit the box with it. But that’s FedEx’s fault. Thankfully, when I opened the box that the frame was in, everything looked fine. All the pieces were there and the headboard looked better than it had online. At first it looks like they only send you a headboard, but if you flip it over you’ll see that there is a zipper on the back of the headboard and you’ll find all the pieces inside. This bed frame is exactly what I wanted! The only thing that I was upset about was that there were finger print stains on one piece of the bed. It wasn’t that big of a deal to me (because I knew my comforter would hide it and it’s not too visible), but I’m sure some people would have been very unhappy about that. I can’t believe I only paid $189 for this. This frame only took about an hour for my boyfriend and I to put together. (He did most of the work though) I definitely got my money’s worth! Also, when putting this bed together, the support pieces for under the bed may not fit at first, but if you just pick up one side of the bed and shimmy it a little they’ll fall into place!

Bought this for a spare room and I love it just what I was looking for match it up with a low profile box spring and a hybred mattress very nice combo I'm sure I'll be sleeping on this before long maybe better then my bed. It does go together easy but I'll give you a few suggestions that diffinetly will help if you were to purchase this bed, first lay all the parts out on the floor one section at a time of course some parts slide into other parts laying it out first helps you see how it exactly goes together, then put the screws in loosely and this is key!! get yourself a good Allen wrench the one that comes with it is cheap and being there's a lot of screws it will wear out, use it to start the screws then use your good one to tighten them down, Also take your time screwing the screws in and you won't have no problems with screws getting stripped I had no issues with this also this is why I say to put all screws in loosely at first then you can make sure everything lines up before you tighten the screws down that way they all go in straight. The frame is heavy duty and solid I'm very pleased with it.

Please pay attention to my review as I just put this bed together. If they gave you regular screws that you could use a screwdriver on, you could put his bed together in an hour. However, they give you an allen wrench which will make the process twice as long. But...the bed went together fine as many have indicated. Now, here's the tricky part...the distance from the top of the slat (where your box spring will set, or BUNKIE BOARD is barely 11 inches to the bottom of the headboard, which means that if you try to put a box spring under your mattress, it will end up too high and will bump into the headboard, which protrudes 2 and a half inches out into the bed area....which means your mattress will over hang the box spring on the end of the bed by a couple of inches. Not a great fit. So, if you use a box spring and mattress combination, you have 11 inches to play with. That's it. If you have a 4" box and a 6" mattress it will look fine, but in my case where my mattress was 10 inches high, I had to use a bunkie board so it all fit under the headboard. You will notice in the picture on Wayfair that although it says you must use a box spring, the picture shows the mattress on the bed WITHOUT a box spring...they used a bunkie board instead. That made it fit under the headboard without coming in contact with it and thus NOT pushing the mattress out from the box spring by a few inches at the end of the bed. So, no matter what you decide to do, you have 11 inches to play with and that's all. You'll remember this review when you don't follow what I commented on here. Good luck. It does look nice and all but the comments are from outer space. Look at the picture and see that the mattress does not use a box spring, but a bunkie board...and YOU HAVE TO use a bunkie board because the bed only has 3 support slats and cannot support the mattress without a bunkie board underneath it. The optimum word is 11. You have 11 inches to play with. Use them wisely!

Amended review December 14, 2018. Customer service was super great in trying to replace my order. I accepted the offer but the next morning something deep inside felt wrong to me. I was having buyers remorse and fear set in at having another problem with my second order. So I called customer service to try and intercept my order. It didn’t work and today my fears were correct. The FedEx delivery person literally and deliberately did not even read the refusal note I had left on my apartment door. The box was once again with certain holes and there was a trail of screws down the hallway. It’s hard to understand why he left the package today and screws all over the place. I can’t wait for the second box to be picked up and this nightmare to be over once and for all. Original review December 11, 2018. If I could give the packing department zero stars to start it wouldn’t be enough. First the package was poorly designed. There were so many gouges and holes it was beyond RIDICULOUS!!!!Second the button foot for the headboard leg arrived smashed to smitherines. Third the dimensions were off by almost an inch. If I had tried to squeeze the box spring into the designated area I’d have bowed the frame out by a lot. I literally had to unscrew the slats just to even try and once I saw that it wasn’t going to fit I undid all my work. Nearly two hours just to get this far. Lastly once I got everything taken apart I had an entire bed on the floor. Finally I spent three hours packing assembling and unassembling everything. I want my time back. SMH

While I am very unhappy with Wayfair, this bed is excellent. I purchased the king size in the dark bronze. The stock pictures looked almost dark silver sometimes so I was very worried about the color not being bronze as the description stated, but photos of the bed in people’s actual homes looked bronze so I went for it. I’m so glad I did. It is a beautiful dark bronze. It’s a somewhat matte finish, not super shiny, which I prefer. The bed seems very sturdy. It took longer to unpackage all the pieces than it did to actually assemble the bed. I would say that’s a good thing; it was packed very well. The assembly was pretty straightforward. I’m a 130 pound female and was able to carry each piece to the bedroom somewhat easily, but it was still heavy (quality feeling). If you plan to and really need to store anything under the bed, this is probably not the bed for you! I was disappointed to find that storage will be extremely minimal. There are 6 additional legs under the bed (aside from the main four corners). Yes, I’m serious. There are 10 total legs for this bed... I just got on the floor and counted. You can store small things, but I used to use the under the bed tote boxes on wheels and will no longer be able to fit them. The legs are in the way and the bed frame is too low. You’ll have about 6.5” of clearance from the floor to the bed rail. Please note that the bed doesn’t feel low at all. We have both a mattress and foundation/boxspring and it is at a great height for us. The shape of the bed rails, etc. just make it too low for real storage underneath and there are no options on the frame to change the height as with some bed frames. You could, of course, purchase those bed risers, but again, you’d need 10 of them. We were missing one of the caps for the bed feet. I have tried reaching out to Wayfair on multiple occasions to deal with a last minute delivery change on their part and ask for another cap but they will not answer me. I’ve never experienced something Iike that before... As much as I love the bed, I will not make another purchase from Wayfair due to the lack of communication. They have legitimately ignored me. So weird...

The bed is very pretty, but the headboard doesn't go down low enough to prevent the metal slats from showing. In other words, there is a gap between my mattress and the bottom of the headboard, and pillows slide through it if you try to sit up in bed. The headboard should be a bit deeper to prevent that. The picture of the bed shows the mattress going all the way to the top of the headboard, and maybe when I get my new mattress set it will do that. But as is, it is a beautiful bed, but I can't sit up in in. Also, I have a tray that I use to work in bed, it has a bottom part that rolls under the bed and you can pull the desk part right up to you to work on. But not in this bed! The bed is not high enough off the ground to allow the bottom part of the tray to slide under. If you have very deep mattresses and don't need much room between the floor and the bottom of the bed, go for it. It is beautiful, but I wish I had gotten out my tape measure before I purchased.

This was exactly what I was looking for - minimal in a studio apartment with lots of options to glam it up or tone it down. I was looking for value pricing and a luxury look - looked forever for the right bed - and this fit the bill! I relied on reviews so am happy to contribute back. The bed arrived in a very manageably sized box the size of the headboard and all of the parts were zipped in. I put it together myself, no power tools in about an hour and a half. A few of the screws were a bit confusing, and I realized I put a set in the wrong place so had to undo/redo, otherwise it would have been quicker. As other reviewers mentioned, make sure to not to screw anything in fully tight until the end - get them all to about 80% to ensure it's even. You don't need any additional tools except for a hammer for the 3 slats. (I was a bit confused if the slats needed a power drill, but they don't - I used a hammer and the slats (slots?) came with the placement already marked on the base boards for easy alignment. Given there are only 4 slats, a box spring is probably a must, but I did survive with an air mattress on top with no problem for a few nights until my mattress came. I paired a 13 inch pillowtop mattress with a 5 inch boxspring and the height is perfect - not too high and doesn't show where the headboard connects. After sleeping in this bed for a couple weeks already, I'm very happy with the look and stability. The color was a tad darker than I thought but it looks great. (The couch I ordered from Wayfair (also in the photo) came in darker than I hoped, and with some white decor, it all matches and looks great.

Really stylish and easy to put together. When I purchased the bed I was a little worried about the build quality because the bed was intended to be used as my primary bed in my master bedroom and the price was so inexpensive. I will say this bed is extremely light and the metal is thin (when you knock on the metal of the footboard is sounds like thin tin). However the actually base part of the bed is pretty solid with proper support. When I finally finished putting the bed together and placed the box spring and mattress on it, it felt very solid. I will say the instructions come with plenty of warnings which state no jumping or “rough housing” on the bed and the bed should not be used for commercial purposes, and that it was critically important that the user check all screws and bolt connections every six months (maybe all beds say this). Because this bed is being used in my master bedroom, I’m not entirely sure how the bed will hold up after some “adult” rough housing (I’m skeptical), however if this bed is used in a guest bedroom or a kids room I think it will hold up perfectly without any worries. Overall, for the price and style, it’s definitely worth the price. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in the slightest. I will update this review after several months of “adult” use.

I love this bed! The wood/metal combination still looks so chic and pretty with my decor. I’m happy with my choice! As an FYI, there were some issues with the metal frame being bent and unable to be assembled at first, but I was able to use tools to make the headboard fit into the base. I legit freaked out after carrying the bed up 3 flights of stairs and thought I’d need to return the whole thing. It was annoying but fixable if you have simple tools. There were no issues with the packaging so it just seems like the bed was made wrong. Just don’t freak out like I did. :) Also it’s a small issue but the bed has creaked a couple times while I’m sitting on it. It’s not too often but my last frame never made a sound so I hope it doesn’t get worst as time goes on. Slightly random, but I was worried that standard storage boxes for under the bed wouldn’t fit and I’m happy to say they do! Overall I love the look and quality of the bed (after I was able to put it together). I would definitely recommend for any style bedroom.

I like the bed a lot. My uncle came to put it together for me and when he got to the last leg there was a missing snap screw. It's a very specific kind of screw with a cover. This screw has the threads to screw in to the bedpost. He couldn't finish putting the bed together. I tried calling both Wayfair and the manufacturer of the parts without any locatingany assistance. The manufacturer's phone said that their voicemail was full. I couldn't find a customer service phone number for Wayfair. Several reviews I read warned of the fact that these beds often come without all of their parts or dented. Fortunately for me there were no dents that I could see but it's very frustrating to take someone else's time to come help you put a bed together only to end up with a missing part. He found a matching part for me & then had to come back and finish the assembly. Please double check that the parts are all in the package. I had ompany coming and no bed!

This is a beautiful bed. The pictures people have taken look like so many different shades, that I called the Coaster (the actual manufacturer) company and got a sample of the fabric. It is a true beige, not as dark as burlap like some people said. I thought the price on this was high, at $800, when wooden beds are often cheaper than that. But what I liked about it is that it has a grand, mater bedroom look, but not dark and heavy like many of the wood beds. And being fabric, it can blend with various colors of end tables/ dressers. I like the comfortable look and feel of the fabric headboard after all, it is soft and has a quiet feel. As far as quality, it is superior to many upholstered beds because the headboard goes all the way down to the rails, and does not have a hole between the bottom of the headboard and the rails. The side rails are nice looking and the bed when made is very neat and modern looking. It was easy to put together and the rails/supports have feet and are nicely done. Downside is there is really no way to store anything under the bed - it is too low. Hope this review helps! Try to get a 10% coupon.

This bed is really beautiful. It is a silver gray and looks pretty good in my Amherst gray painted bedroom. This is my first time ever buying anything from wayfair. I decided on this bed because after comparing it to the spadaro which reviewers said looked more blue. Also, a quick dimension check proved to show this bed had more height. The process with wayfair was simple enough however the shipping... Good grief did it take awhile. Finally, it made it to their local partner RAS. RAS contacted me on the delivery of the headboard, which was due on Oct 12th I received the call confirming delivery and then i waited...absolutely nothing! NO PHONE CALL, NOTHING!!! The next day i flew to florida for vacation and had to call RAS from the Orlando airport to see what was going on. You think they would have had the decency to follow up with me since they were a NO Call No Show!! After explaining what happened, the male representative said he would call me right back. After 1 hour, i called him back and he stated he was just about to give me a call back...SURE HE WAS!!! and he GAVE ME ABSOLUTELY NO EXPLANATION as to why my headboard was not delivered. Then he says we can come back out on Thursday. Which i agreed to and quickly had to call a family member to drive to my home so she could bring it in since i would be in Florida for a week. The footboard, which was shipped on the exact same date as the headboard, was promised on October 27th but delivered on October 28th. Weird that they were shipped on the same date but the lighter piece arrived 2 weeks later. Fortunately this time, i was home and i was able to get this delivery. The delivery guys for the footboard were amazing!!! Kudos to them. After i got someone to help me get the headboard up all 14 of my stairs, that thing was heavy, I sat on the floor and prepared to work. I separated the pieces and got started. First of all, they give you this "screwdriver" and it leaves you thinking WTH. There were NO predrilled holes in the footboard so trying to screw in the screw with that screwdriver was a complete joke. I had to grab my drill and predrill a hole then add the screwdriver bit to screw in the feet to the footboard. The whole process took me about 2 hours alone to put together. I would have given the bed 5 stars but i removed a star for giving me a janky screwdriver, the slow delivery and having to deal with a delivery partner who acted like it was ok to have me wait in the house for the WHOLE day and NOT even get a delivery.

The bed came with two stains on it and we used our folix cleaner to clean it. It came out right away and looked great. I give it 4 stars because I didn't like the height of the headboard. For me it was too short. Just be sure to measure. Also the height of the legs was much shorter than we anticipated so again just make sure to measure to make sure it is what you want. We have an adjustable base for our bed and it sat so low there was a 3-4" gap from the base of the bed to our base for our bed. The last thing we really didn't like is there is a middle support on the sides of the bed and we kept hitting our feet into it getting in and out of bed. Overall if you measure and don't mind those things this bed is great. Wayfair is always great with getting the items quick, no damage and easy for returns if needed.

For the low price, I think this was a good purchase. It took me about an hour to assemble, and the instructions were pretty straightforward. I am using this frame with a zero gravity adjustable base that stands on its own therefore, in my situation, the bed frame is more decorative than it is functional (i.e. it doesn’t have to support the mattress or boxspring). If it did have to support the king mattress and boxspring, I’m not so sure it would be as good of an option for me. The sides are not as thick as the footboard piece, and I do not understand why the manufacturer decided to split the side boards. It does seem to compromise the sturdiness by having two pieces, and you have to use at least 2 of the 4 slats in order to keep the sides straight (even if you are using the adjustable base). If I was not using the stand-alone adjustable base, I would definitely reinforce with more than the 4 slats that come with the set as others have suggested, or I would opt for a bed frame that didn’t split the sides intwo.

The frame itself is very pretty. The headboard had an odd odor for about the first 2 days, but we put our air purifier next to it and by the time we went to sleep the first night, it was perfectly bearable. It wasn't too hard to put together - although, it does seem like it could use a couple extra slats to support the bed. Our king bed is quite heavy so we're worried about how long the frame will last. All in all, it was good for the value we paid, and delivery was quick which was great!

I’m very impressed with this bed. We had a dark wooden bed from several years ago that was cracked and it would squeak every time you even shifted your weight. My husband couldn’t sleep. It was awful. I liked the grey of this bed and other people said it had a hint of blue so I thought it would work well with the room color. I was right! Pros very well made, beautiful finish and color, easy to put together, sturdy, and (best of all) no squeaks! Cons it is ever so slightly higher than our old bed. While this is not a problem for my 6’5” husband, it is a wee bit tall for my 5’ self. We have a box spring and a Nectar mattress so that factors in to the height. If you’re not using a box spring with this you won’t have a problem. You can see how much of the headboard this takes up in my photos, compared to other reviewers who are not using a box spring. The footboard is also very short. Again, if you’re using it with no box spring this will not be noticeable but I was just surprised at how tall the headboard was and how short the footboard was. But it’s not a big deal and at least now I don’t bump into it in the middle of the night and give myself unexplained bruises. At any rate, just buy the thing. It’s well made, a lovely color, and easy to assemble (my husband did it himself in an hour and he’s not the most DIY person on the planet). I will note that if you put the plugs in to cover the assembly screws you can not get them back out again to take this bed apart. We have had to move our bed several times for various remodel projects so we were cognizant of that. If you leave them out and either the headboard or footboard face the door, the brassy color of the screws is unsightly. We solved this by pushing the covers in just enough that they stayed but leaving a lip so we can grab on to them with pliers later. They look almost like raised buttons and your eye skips right over them. Just something to think about if you rent or may need to disassemble the bed for any reason.

- The velvet headboard and side frames are lovely it has character with the brass pins around the headboard edge!! -It arrived earlier than expected. It took me 1 hour and 30 minutes to put it together. (See pic attached). - I did not bother to use the side wooden slants that is to be screwed directly on the side frames, because of a lessons learned. Those, thin, wooden slants do not hold a box spring and mattress, it eventually breaks off from the side board frames even when it is screwed onto it. This experience was from a wooden side frame from another well know seller. - What I did was set up my new velvet headboard and side frames and simply placed the metal box spring (from Wayfair) on the floor inside the frames! (See pic attached). Now, I don’t have to worry about the thin wooden slants breaking in the middle of the night. - I am delighted with my headboard because it looks way better than the previous button tufted headboard I had purchased from Wayfair in 2018. I gave that one to my niece. - Overall, the headboard is F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S.!!!

My husband and I have wanted a metal bed for a long time. Actually we have been wanting to order a solid cast or wrought iron bed from a foundry for quite a while but cost and the sheer weight of the bed make that prohibitive at this time. Finding a queen sized actual antique iron bed in good condition... easier said than done in my experience plus again, cost and sheer weight of the bed. So, ordering this bed, for me, was a sort of concession. I was actually expecting to be disappointed. I am actually shocked, pleasantly so, in how much this bed really and truly looks like the real thing! It’s absolutely gorgeous!!!! I sort of stumbled onto Wayfair in our quest to find a new bed. We were very nervous about ordering a metal bed online specifically because of the metal. We didn’t want to end up with a low quality piece of junk that would be really noisy or with paint that easily scratched off or metal that dented easily. We especially didn’t want anything that wasn’t sturdy. After reading a lot of reviews we decided to order this bed while it was on sale. The bed arrived in two separate boxes, on time. Unlike some reviewers we did not have any missing pre-drilled holes for the foot board and set up was quick and easy. It’s very stable and sturdy (my husband picks himself up in his sleep and will flop and basically throws himself back down when he turns and tosses in his sleep). The paint seems like it’s been powder coated or “baked” onto the bed as I did run a fingernail over it in a few inconspicuous spots just to test. The frame is long.As others have pointed out the frame is longer than a standard sized mattress but I honestly don’t think it looks weird and see it as a great thing. We normally keep some heavy duty blankets on during the cooler months. I plan on using it as a little spot to keep a spare blanket nearby in the warmer months as I get cold easily.
