Best Kitchen & Dining Tables With Reviews

I am in a small condo and needed a smaller than usual dining table, specifically a smaller depth of the table, yet big enough to host 6. This 31.5" depth (fully open) table is a perfect size. I made sure to get chairs where the width of the seat was no more than 18"-19" max in order for them to fit on one side of the table legs when necessary. Putting this together was fairly simple by comparison to some I've done. It took about an hour. Just be sure to use the correctly labeled Bag of screws for each application. All the bags are labeled so just pay attention. The directions are the typical "all pictures". I felt really sorry for the FedEx delivery guy. I'm on the third floor and he carried this heavy (75 lbs) box up three flights of stairs because it wouldn't fit in the elevator of my building. It can't be fun delivering these heavy, oversized packages. But I will admit, the table was packaged really, really well. Sure, there was some slight expected wear and tear to the box just from being shipped, but it had no impact on the table inside. The only thing that I thought was a little "hokey" was the faux distressing they added to the design on the table top. At first, when I opened the box, I thought it was a defect. I was ready to report it. Then I took a closer look and realized it was "distressed". The gray faux wood finish is actually nice looking (considering it's just some sort of flat, plastic laminate). The printed distressing was unnecessary and could have been given a little more thought by the designer. But once I realized it was not a defect and just a "printed" version of "distressing", I'm okay with it now. The table does look nice. And if the table top ever gets damaged through normal wear and tear over time, I can always paint it if needed. For me, this table was exactly what I was looking for...something not as deep as a standard dining table, not as narrow as a bar table, and could seat 6 people when needed...and is a standard dining table height (as opposed to bar height). This does the trick for me and I'm really happy with my purchase.

So here's the deal... the fully built table deserves 5 stars. It really is beautiful and it's a sturdy solid piece that's made with real wood as advertised. Couldn't be happier about that... BUT... THE SETUP/BUILD IS A NIGHTMARE. Instructions are extremely confusing. Some steps are missing information involving one of the pieces of hardware that it comes with. Myself and my fiance had to use our own judgment when we realized that one piece of hardware is failed to be mentioned anywhere in the setup guide (other than in the legend) then applied common sense to suit it. I've purchased other tables in the past from other vendors on Wayfair... most are a VERY easy to setup. The top of the table is normally already assembled and other than connecting the legs and support beams, it's fairly straight forward. I've built them all by myself (I'm a woman) in less than a half hour flat. This product on the other hand comes with approximately 2 dozen pieces of wood. Every single component needs to be assembled from scratch. I honestly have no idea why it was done this way because after building out certain elements in steps a lot of this could have been pre-assembled and still put into a large box and mailed out. Between myself and fiance, it took us 2+ hours from start to finish. If I had to accurately rate this product it would be this: Setup: 1 star Finished Product: 5 stars I chose to still give this actual product rating a 4 because if you're ready to take on this challenge it really is a gorgeous piece and didn't want to mislead people to think by rating it 3 stars that it's a piece of garbage. It really is beautiful. Also, disregard what the instructions tell you regarding refraining to use power drills to help you assemble the piece. If we didn't pull out our drill for the dozens of long screws required to build this piece we would have easily tacked on another hour or 2.

I assembled this table today. The pedestal component is beautiful. The table top is a blond color which goes with my furniture. There seems to be a striped pattern to the top. The pedestal color I ordered was denim but it is more a greyish blue rather than a deep blue as shown on the website. But I loved the color. More importantly the table was easy to assemble. It is really heavy and sturdy and not wobbly at all. I’m really pleased with the table. I paired it with Kimari 5 - Light Classic / Traditional Shaded Chandelier, which looks amazing For chairs, I bought the Aliha Metal Cross Back Side Chair. I thought that with the same name and color it would be a great match but , while the chairs were great - and although not small, they were too small for that table - and that didn’t balance well with the table.

The delivery company contacted me to make an appointment for delivery, they were very easy to work with, arrived right on time and brought the pieces inside the house and put them where I asked them to. They had me fill out a customer service review while they were there. The table base was fairly easy to assemble and is very heavy. Everything lined up perfectly and went together the way it should. The only thing I had trouble with were the leveling feet on one end and that was because I am dealing with an injured right hand and just couldn’t get the threads to line up properly. My husband was able to do it for me when he was helping me put the top onto the base. This is where things got interesting and where Wayfair’s customer service shone. I had already put the cross braces onto the underside of the tabletop, leaving it in the box since I couldn’t lift it myself and didn’t see any reason to try. When my husband was there, we flipped the trestle base over and attached it to the tabletop. We lifted and flipped the entire table over and, upon doing so, I saw a problem. Somehow, in the manufacturing process, a screw holding the side rail to the edge of the top was put in at an angle and damaged the edge of the tabletop as well as leaving a gap between the top and the rail. If it had just been a gap, we could have glued and clamped it and called it “good,” but with the edge of the tabletop being broken and considering the price of the table, I decided to call Wayfair about it. The customer service representative was lovely on the phone and very helpful. She ordered a replacement top immediately and started to make arrangements for picking up the damaged top at the same time that the new top would be delivered when she stopped and said her supervisor told her to tell us to donate or recycle/dispose of the damaged top instead. I was waiting for a file cabinet to arrive that was being delivered by the same delivery company so, when I received the notice that it had arrived at their facility, I called them and told them they could hold onto it until the new tabletop arrived and deliver them together. They were happy to do so because we are 100 miles away from them so II saved them a very long trip. They delivered both pieces two days after the tabletop arrived at their facility. I haven’t had a chance to change out the tabletops yet but so far, Wayfair’s customer service has been great. As for the table, the base is very sturdy, the top is surprisingly thin, but it is all real wood and looks great. I purchased it as a library table, not a dinner table, and I think it will be perfect for that.

The reason for 4 stars is the delivery of the table was a little dramatic. The first table took almost a month to arrive and the molding on the table was cracked. It’s more like a veneer molding so it’s not even something you could fix with a wood filler. Wayfair CS is always great and they sent me a replacement that arrived within a week. It was also delayed by FedEx but not Wayfairs fault. I had to laugh because I opened the second box and the bottom half of the second table was horribly damaged. Massive gouges in the trestle wood. Luckily between my first and second table, I had a complete table. But man, it was a little frustrating. As for the table itself, heed other reviews warnings, it is definitely about 31” tall. Not what the spec says. You’re going to want a chair that is probably 19” floor to seat to not feel like your table is at your chest. My chairs are 18” and I had to add cushions so we didn’t feel like we were sitting too low. Id suggest waiting to by chairs until you get the table so you can really understand or realllly make sure the chair you are getting is going to ha e a higher floor to seat height.

We love this table. It is exactly what we wanted. Large enough to play board games on with lots of room for components, sturdy enough that it doesn't shake it someone bumps it, but also cozy enough for family dinners. Currently my husband is using it as a makeshift desk while working from home and it is plenty big enough for his printer, computer, extra monitor, and all his paperwork. We are really pleased with this purchase. It was super easy to put together. As others have mentioned, it is heavy and large and you will need at least two people to set it upright once the legs are on. The leaf is easy to add or remove and the mechanism to do so is easy to slide. We are very happy.

This table is a very good value for the price. The legs are a dark, dark brown, and the top has a nice bevel around the edge. I'm giving it a 4 for two reasons: 1) the instructions to put it together are totally lame; and 2) there is a brushed nickel inset in the horizontal brace that doesn't show in the photo. It's not that the brushed nickel insert is unattractive; it's just that I'm accenting with brushed gold and didn't expect it. Since the top of the table is glass, it definitely shows. It's a good thing we've put together a lot of furniture because the instructions aren't very helpful. In fact, after we got the table all put together and the top perfectly placed, we realized that the legs are probably upside down. We decided to just go with it anyway. I am not sure of how the table will look yet in my kitchen because it was damaged when I received it- I am writing the review however, based on the customer service I received. I am 36 weeks pregnant, had a nightmare kitchen remodel that lasted a month and a half & finally was able to open up the box with my brand new kitchen table that would complete my kitchen & let my family and I finally have a meal on a real table! Come to find, after opening the box, the top of the table was cracked- well after cursing, screaming and crying (pregnancy hormones and lack of patience) I went on the website, answered a few questions in the "damaged, defective item area" and just like that a new table was sent out & I did not have to hassle with returning the old one! SERIOUSLY!?! Over and above my expectations of customer service.... Thank you so much Wayfair for uncomplicating a potentially complicating circumstance & for not giving this pregnant lady a heart attack : )

I wish I could give 4 1/12 stars. This table is close to perfect. I got the largest size and it took a decent amount of time to get to me. I want to say it took about a month. We were pleasantly surprised at how heavy it was. I highly recommend paying to have it be put together as there is a considerable about of trash. It took us weeks to finally get rid of all of the garbage. The only reason I'd knock off any stars is due to a small gap that goes around the table. I have small children (and a messy husband) and crumbs and play doe and all sorts of things get stuck in that crevasse. I am considering having it filled by a professional, just a little scared to have anyone touch it for fear of ruining it. Otherwise, Its a beautiful table. After about a month of searching for the perfect chairs to go with it, I finally found some beautiful and sturdy wood chairs at Pier1. They look as though they were made for this table. I get compliments on the chairs and table by all of my visitors. It was a perfect choice for our dining room, especially for the price.

I have to find someone to help me put this together after discovering that the assembly option was not available for me. Not sure why. Was told that "maybe they didn't have anyone available in my area". Then was told they would provide someone at no cost after my payment for assembly was refunded without explanation. Well, I will opt out of buying anything that needs assembly from this site going forward, even if I purchase anything in the future, assembly required or not. Very disappointed because I had heard so many good things about Wayfair from so many of my friends. Anyway, either I will try to assemble this on my own (shaking in my boots) or try to find a maintenance guy at the building here to help me after hours. Table looks perfect for my place, so I am not giving the table itself a bad rating. I just had to pick a star.

I was leery about this table’s sturdiness and durability, due to being pine. After checking with my father-in-law and brother (both woodworkers), they assured me that it would be a great wood for a table and matching bench, which I also purchased. The table is textured so even if my daughter presses too hard with the pencil while doing her homework, if there were impressions left in the wood, they’re not noticeable. We’ve had this table for over a year now and it really has created the space and openness we needed in the room. The table itself is sturdy and not at all wobbly. It can be dressed up or down and the design is extremely versatile. The color has hints of honey and white, so it matches with various colored wood chairs. To our pleasant surprise, we didn’t have to buy new dining chairs because it matches well with some vintage chairs we inherited from a family member. It’s relatively lightweight and easy to lift and move and the workspace is large for us to spread out while working on projects or eating a dinner. We usually seat three of us but it could comfortably fit four to six people, depending on their sizes.

I was hesitant to purchase such a large piece of furniture online, but I'm glad that I did. The table is gorgeous! It took about three to four weeks to arrive, but was worth the wait. Our aesthetic is sort of modern farmhouse, or eclectic, and this piece goes beautifully. It is definitely rustic, but elegant. The finish on the table is very light, with some people even remarking that it doesn't look finished. In other words, it's not glossy or heavily coated. But, my kids have tested it with soy sauce, ketchup, and olive oil spills already and everything just wiped away nicely, with no staining or spotting. It is a large table that can easily seat 8 adults, and can seat 10 with a little squeezing. We ordered two of the matching benches and can actually fit 5 kids along one bench! (Ages 4-8) The only thing I can think of that may be a problem for some people is that there are notable spaces between the slats that comprise the table top, which means that crumbs, etc. can fall into the space. A vacuum or a toothpick can easily remove anything that becomes trapped. This doesn't bother me in the least, but I can imagine that some people may prefer to opt for a table that has a solid surface (without any spaces). Overall, the quality and look of the table is excellent for the price. We have received many, many compliments, and are extremely happy with our choice.

So I LOVE IT! The color of the wood is not what I was thinking it would be. For some reason I expected a more grey toned wood. HOWEVER,........GORGEOUS! Super easy to put together just 12 screws, washers and an Allen wrench (all included). Id recommend 2 people to flip the table over after you put the legs on. I mean you could probably do it yourself but if your like me Id end up denting the floor or something. Speaking of the legs they are all the same size and sturdy! Hairpin style oh so stylish! Anyways love the table! Oh I did take a video of how bad the box was damaged.....like I could see and touch the table through the holes! However the table was not affected so Ill leave it out. So in all if you want this table BUY THIS TABLE !

Edit: Wayfair customer service is amazing! They refunded my money, and then sent me a new table. I will definitely be ordering more from Wayfair in the future! I was so excited when I found this table, so I quickly placed my order. It was delivered a few months ago, but I wasn’t able to open it because we were in the middle of a remodel. I just opened it up today, and I am so upset! It is damaged in multiple places on the table top and on the metal piece that holds the table up. I went online immediately to see if I could return it, but it says I am passed the return date. $250 down the drain... Happy Mother’s Day to me :( I am keeping my fingers crossed that Wayfair will still return this for me, and give me a full refund. If so, I will update my review.

The table itself is beautiful. I love the faux concrete top. The staples underneath (that secure the shipping straps on) are time consuming to pull out after unboxing. The item was shipped and when opened the concrete veneer had a chip in it. The original item was replaced so we took the damaged table and placed it on our patio. We don’t have chairs picked out yet, but it is a neutral table so it shouldn’t be hard to pair it with something. The table outside is holding up well (in Texas weather), but it is on a covered patio with morning sun exposure only. The only reason I gave it four stars is because items from Wayfair almost always arrive damaged if they weigh over a certain amount. I stand by my past commentary when I say someone is still dropping the ball on shipping. I’m thankful that Wayfair is eager to work with their customers, but it does get old after a while.

Pro’s This Maytham42” Extandable Drop Leaf Rubberwow Solid Wood Pedestal Table. I choose the Mahogany color which blends very well with my other furniture. I put this table together on Father’s Day it only took me an hour or less I wasn’t really timing myself I had no issues putting this table together it was quite easy in fact. I would highly recommend this this table to others. I also like the Red String in the packing boxes, to help you find the instructions, the Hardware and parts those bumper things Everything was neat and easy to find. Cons only a small one there’s 2, I will call bumpers because I don’t know what the name is The directions show where to place them I’m not sure if they go on the Drop Leaf or on the bar that holds the drop leaf up. If anyone has figured out what or where these parts go. Please let me know. Thank you in advance I will do the same if I figure it out.

1.Table is beautiful solid wood.. 2.no knots or imperfections in the wood... 3.the center support is one solid piece that was masterfully created on a lathe. 4. I ordered the unfinished and will paint it with a clear lacquer (if you’re not handy, order it with a finish) 5. very simple to put together and all tools are included ( I used a battery powered drill with assorted hex head driver bits... no worries if you have no tools, you’ll just need the tools provided and some elbow grease) 6. very sturdy once assemble despite simplicity of assembly 7 FYI 30’ is small but I knew what I was getting, I live in a small nyc apartment and only host 2 at the table. SUMMARY. This wood was highest grade and completely free of knots, it’s ashame people order it with a coat of paint rather than a stain l. If I tried to duplicate this craftsmanship in a workshop it would cost quadruple what I paid in lumber and manhours. Very nice piece.

As far as this table goes, it is perfection. We absolutely love it. It is well made. Love the distressed finish. It is a creamier shade than I thought but that is fine. It looks amazing with our matte black metal chairs. The five stars is for the table only. As far as Delivery I give 0 stars. I had the worst deliverycommunication experience I have ever had with Wayfair over the years. They are known for their excellent customer service but I didn’t find that when they lost my item at their warehouse. We received a text saying the time and day and waited all day at home on this delivery. It wasn’t loaded on the truck, so the truck showed up with no table and then they sent me a message that it had been delivered. I spoke to someone that evening but nothing could be done because they couldn’t get a hold of delivery. I called the next day and was told I’d have to call delivery myself because he couldn’t get a hold of delivery either and basically good luck. 3 hours on hold with delivery and no answer. After leaving a negative response on the email they sent inquiring about how my delivery(that didn’t happen) went I received a call telling me they lost the item. And I would just have to wait another 2-3 weeks. Sorry about my luck and the inconvenience but that was it. I guess they did find the missing table because It was delivered the next week but it was just so poorly handled. The lack of communication with delivery seems to be a major issue. When something like this happened with another company I was offered gift cards and additional discount coupons for future purchases to make up for the error, but nothing from Wayfair. It was a frustrating experience.

Big kudos to wayfair and the distributor of this table! While the color is a little different than the picture it is a beautiful table, although with the first one I recieved, the tabletop was slanted and I couldnt figure out why.. so I contacted wayfair via their chat feature and was told someone would get back to me after they reached out to the distributor. I got a call a few days later from Becky and she told me the distributor chalked it up to a manufacturing defect and they would send me a replacement table at no cost and no return necessary. The new table came in a few days (amazing!) And is PERFECT! No slant and looks great with my new wayfair chairs! You can sort of see the slant in the old table behind the new one in the first picture, I sent them a photo with a level on it to show proof of said slant.

Great table. Outside box has some damage. It concerned me but the table inside was so well packed. Even screwed on temp corners to keep the item steady with extra layers of corners, with one exception the screws left holes which the legs covered on each all but two. Not happy no one thought too many screw holes showed tiny holes and wood dust falls if not covered. I taped them. Also cardboard and plastic were used to hold corners for more stability. Other foam and plastic sheets covered table well. Some marks on top, small, almost invisible. Covered well. I would've liked more attention to painting/staining the underneath screw areas. The colour, grey, is exactly as I expected. The table top, a bit thing but seems durable and whole table together is very sturdy. The legs are a good weight as is the table top. It went together very easy which was a bonus for me. No parts missing nor any issues to deal with. No odour out of the box. My opinion, Vietnam gives more attention to quality, details, packing and ease of instruction and building. I'd recommend this table. Lovely with my white high back chairs. Nice height.
