I bought the futon frame as an inexpensive spare bed for company. So far, I'm very pleased. It was easy to find the model I wanted on line and to complete the order. It took only 10 days to arrive (4 days less than expected). At first the assembly instructions seemed very complex. I just took it one step at a time. It took me a couple of hours to put it together by my self with only a little help from my husband holding a few larger pieces together while I attached them together. Also he tightened a few of the nuts and bolts. (The instructions estimated the assembly time to be 1.5 hours. We already had an 8" futon mattress. I watched TV lying on it that same night as a couch and fell asleep. (Very comfortable.) The next night we tried it out as a bed. (Again very comfortable). I gladly recommend this futon frame.

The futon came in three parcels, each delivered on a different day. The assembly was not difficult and took two people for about two hours. The labels were placed wrongly on some parts (for example L1 fits not L1 but L2). We figured out immediately that something is wrong. Otherwise, it might take hours to assembly the futon. All the pieces were nicely packed, all holes were perfectly aligned. Two screws (spare?) were left at the end. Some wooden end caps were too small to stay in corresponding holes. Nice wood quality. We purchased the futon frame only and we are searching for a corresponding mattress, so this piece of furniture has not been used yet.

This futon has been a fantastic addition to my living room. Very sturdy and stylish. Had a recent issue with a part (user error and not the product) and the customer service to replace the part was EXCELLENT. The best I've ever experienced actually. Super accommodating even after a year since purchased. This futon is great and highly recommend.

Frame came in three separate packages, all delivered over the span of a week by FedEx to the wrong address. Challenging assembly made more difficult by mislabeled parts, but after four hours of frustration, the futon looks great. Solid frame, relatively easy to maneuver. This is a replacement for an older (20 year old) Strata, and the design has clearly been improved.

If it were not for the HORRENDOUS instruction book, this would get 5 stars. Sturdy, nice wood, looks as pictured. However, the pieces were mislabeled and the instruction book has lengthy hard-to-understand steps, teeny illustrations and pictures that look like they've been photocopied several times over. They also have you assemble things in a weird order that makes maneuvering more difficult. Watch the video several times and ignore the stickers sometimes and you might get it right in the first go. QUICK SUMMARY I am super pleased with the quality of this frame - especially in terms of value per investment. I absolutely would purchase from this company again!! (Detailed info below for those interested) BG I have two kids and usually buy “assemble yourself bedroom furniture” because I know they will grow out of whatever I get. But this is actually solid, well-constructed, and easy to put together, so we will hold on to it. I put this frame together almost a year ago and it is still in great shape. NOTE it is a bit low for a bed - but it IS also a futon! We just added a thicker mattress since it is being used exclusively as a bed. (apologies on the pic - I realized I didn’t take any - but the dresser should offer context for the height of the frame. ASSEMBLY PROS - pieces and hardware are well labelled - this is mostly a 1-person job. I did 90 of the assembly myself and I am 5’2”. I only required a second set of hands to put a couple of pieces on because I lack the wingspan. - time was reasonable. - difficulty level easymoderate ASSEMBLY CONS - pieces are heavier than your cheaper self-assembly furniture. (This is also a PRO of course - I just mean - bending over and lifting might be challenging for some people if they have a bad back, and moving the box alone might be tough) To be clear - the weight is still manageable! - you may get caught in a couple of spots, so doubletriple check your pieces are positioned the correct way. I have built a LOT of furniture and am fairly adept. But there were a couple steps with this frame where I had something in front when it should have been behind, and I had to go back a couple of steps to correct it. To be fair - I don’t know if the issue was because the instructions were not as clear as they could have been, or if it was 100 my own fault. Regardless - the mistakes were easy to fix, but I didn’t realize until 3 or 4 steps later, so I needed to undo and redo. OBSERVATION Give yourself room for the assembly. It goes without saying the finished product will be a certain size and the pieces are non-pliable. But during assembly I was grateful I worked in an empty room because there are moments where you have portions of the bed in two different spots. If you need a simple, high-quality, futon frame - this is it!

I am 72yrs old and other than the overall weight of each box, everything was fine. It took me and another senior citizen 2 days to assemble but any normal person can do this in a couple hours. I am very pleased with the quality and ease of assembly. the directions were very clear and easy to follow

Looks nice but the drawers sit on the floor under the futon not a track. I have carpet so not an issue but if someone has wood floors might be an issue for scratching floors?

This frame was delivered in record time! We received it days after ordering. Do not attempt to assemble this alone. Two heads are better when locating and screwing the parts together. Everything was well labeled and color-coded. This piece becomes heavy once it is assembled so, you definitely need a partner but, you can manage if you have to do it alone. The finish I chose was exactly what I expected and, the final results were worth the times of struggle getting this together. My assemblies never go as smooth as I would like but, it can if you take your time and focus on your current step, you'll get it right. I'm happy with my purchase. Sturdy and looks more expensive than the price paid. I can see that we will have this piece for a long time! Thanks Wayfair.

Love love LOVE! This bifold futon is perfect. It came completely disassembled, and assembly- although tedious- was super easy and straight forward. The wood is literally packaged in the order you need it, so definitely do NOT dump everything out, before assembly. Putting everything together, took me only an hour. Which, considering I had my 2 year old wanting to help with everything, was still pretty good to finish as soon as I did. The wood itself has character, and it looks like it'll age up nicely in color. As a couch, it's rather comfortable, and considering my family has both scoliosis AND degenerative disc disease, comfort and support are the main concerns. I like that I can adjust the angle of the back, to accommodate folks that have back issues. Now as for the bed part, super easy to fold down, just fold the mattress over, push the back forward, and pull the leg bar out. Easy peasy. When in bed form, the frame has some slight give to it, which is relatively normal for the kind of wood it's made from. Again, not an issue, but something to be mindful of. The frame held me, my. 2 year old daughter, two cats and rather beefy american bulldog, with no issues. The bed has a weight limit of 600lbs, so keep that in mind as well. I cannot say for sure how long this frame will actually last, if only because through repeated use, the wood legs that let you adjust the incline, will naturally wear away. I noticed that Wayfair had an option to buy replacement parts, so I guess you could conceivably replace the worn legs? Using a cordless drill, made assembly much easier, so definitely have one on hand to use. It'll save you a ton of hassel and aggravation during assembly. This bed is manufactured in Georgia, so if you're into buying and supporting American made products, then this would be a good option for you. All in all, a sturdy, nice looking futon, that supports a US company. Win win in my book.
