Best Drop Leaf Dining Tables With Reviews

I am in a small condo and needed a smaller than usual dining table, specifically a smaller depth of the table, yet big enough to host 6. This 31.5" depth (fully open) table is a perfect size. I made sure to get chairs where the width of the seat was no more than 18"-19" max in order for them to fit on one side of the table legs when necessary. Putting this together was fairly simple by comparison to some I've done. It took about an hour. Just be sure to use the correctly labeled Bag of screws for each application. All the bags are labeled so just pay attention. The directions are the typical "all pictures". I felt really sorry for the FedEx delivery guy. I'm on the third floor and he carried this heavy (75 lbs) box up three flights of stairs because it wouldn't fit in the elevator of my building. It can't be fun delivering these heavy, oversized packages. But I will admit, the table was packaged really, really well. Sure, there was some slight expected wear and tear to the box just from being shipped, but it had no impact on the table inside. The only thing that I thought was a little "hokey" was the faux distressing they added to the design on the table top. At first, when I opened the box, I thought it was a defect. I was ready to report it. Then I took a closer look and realized it was "distressed". The gray faux wood finish is actually nice looking (considering it's just some sort of flat, plastic laminate). The printed distressing was unnecessary and could have been given a little more thought by the designer. But once I realized it was not a defect and just a "printed" version of "distressing", I'm okay with it now. The table does look nice. And if the table top ever gets damaged through normal wear and tear over time, I can always paint it if needed. For me, this table was exactly what I was looking for...something not as deep as a standard dining table, not as narrow as a bar table, and could seat 6 people when needed...and is a standard dining table height (as opposed to bar height). This does the trick for me and I'm really happy with my purchase.

This is one of my best purchases from Wayfair. The table is very nice and is perfect for my small dining area. I like the idea that it's made of all wood. Before I chose this table I looked at many tables online and some of the more expensive were made of synthetic wood. Not only was it easy to put together, but the necessary tools were included in the package and it arrived in perfect condition. The drop leaf(s) were already attached to the table top when it arrived and only the base had to be put together and secured to the table top. This is a very sturdy table; not only is it pretty, it's very strong.

I'm very happy with this table so far! I've only had it for a couple days. The table arrived two days early and was left all the way across the apartment campus. Fortunately, my kind neighbor called to inform me that it was sitting outside of their apartment for two days! I had to find someone to help me bring it to my home. Other than that huge blunder, it measures up to everything I was looking for in a table. It's a strong, dependable, solid table. I think it it's very well crafted and fits perfectly in my small dining room area.

This is a raw wood drop leaf table. I put a weathered gray stain on it, which took the tiniest amount of stain you can buy, and about an hour to do. I then added a matte polyurethane finish just to the top so any greasy food, or spilled red wine would wipe up. That took all of ten minutes. The result is darling. Even if you don’t stain it, the porousness of the raw wood means you may want to protect the wood from food and dirt with.ccoatcoat.ofpolyurethane.

I was infatuated with this table on the website. After I put it together I fell in love! It is a study well built table. As per the other reviews the directions are just awful but don't let that discourage you. Once you get the pieces figured out it is easy to put together. I stained the table dark walnut and the wood looks beautiful! I'm sure this will be out kitchen table for many years to come.

This table is great, and works in our small kitchen well. 4 stars is for difficult to manage packaging. Assembly itself was easy, but removing the legs from the packaging was EXTREMELY difficult. The legs are strapped to the bottom of the table for shipping, and the straps are attached very securely with heavy duty staples to the underside of the leaves. Took my partner and I about 25 minutes of leveraging the staples, wedging, and finally pulling (HARD) with pliers remove the staples and unstrap the legs. In the end we had to damage the underside of the table in several places in the effort to remove the staples, and we weren't even able to remove them all. Several broke off and left partial staples on the underside of the table, which we hammered smooth to the best of our ability. Overall, great table, good quality, pretty much as picture and advertised. BUT, beware the difficult packaging unless you have someone willing to pull and pry at staples for a half hour.

4.5 stars - it is a nice piece, heavy heavy! half star off because Instructions were not clear even though it should be intuitive, yet after fastening the leg stands they turned out to be the other way around it would have been nice to have it labeled as which side is out and which is in- I discovered my mistake when I tried to install the the metal curves and these 2 you got to be careful which one should be placed where - I guess I am not that handy, so it took me an hour. left it on its side because I have no help to flip it upright and didn't want to ruin the floors or break my toes- BUT it looks nice and I like the unfinished look- they give you the tools neatly packed in a divided tray so you don't have to open many small plastic things and keep fumbling around - Looks sturdy too. Didn't need additional tools but the wrench they packed with the hardware.

Pros small, compact and made of solid wood - NO veneer which I love. Con the leg base is narrow so it isn’t super sturdy if you plan on using it for kids as an example - my toddler pushes up on the table when getting up and down his chair - you just have to be careful. Also, a normal chair DOES NOT fit between the chair legs to scoot it in. That’s the case with two sides - chairs SO fit

Pleasantly surprised to receive this table 2 days early. It is an unfinished table. Easy assembly, and not too heavy. I stained and sealed it with two coats of poly. There were some areas of the wood that would not accept stain. Almost as if a clear chemical had been dripped on those spots. I think the table looks really nice for the price point. But the irregular spots give it a 4 for me. I’m including pics of the raw wood, after I stained, and finally after the poly and in place in my dining nook.

The table is as represented, unfinished, but usable like this also, if you like natural. I intend to paint/stain it. Quite solid parts. And I do mean parts, since no instructions came with table. And yes, I ripped everything apart looking. There is a small bag of bolts and such however. I will look online for instructions and then begin to figure out what to do if these can't be found. Even a diagram would have been useful. Thus the 3 stars. These may diminish as time goes by and I have a problem with constructing the table. We shall see. Addendum: Yes, I found the instructions - all 5 pages. I had removed them the day before to read, but set them aside. Parts list complete, Assembly not difficult with instructions. Upgrade to 5 stars. Also should mention that contacting Wayfair regarding order dysfunction, illusory or not, is easy. This is my third assembly order from Wayfair and I am impressed.

I DID LOTS OF SEARCHING FOR A SMALL TABLE. TABLE IS QUITE STURDY, NOT TOO HEAVY TO MOVE AROUND. I DON'T PICK IT UP. THIS IS PERFECT FOR HUBBY AND I. THIS CAN SEAT FOR ADULTS. USUALLY IT IS JUST MY BETTER HALF AND I WHO EAT TOGETHER. WE KEEP IT FOLDED DOWN FOR THE TWO OF US. WHEN OUR GRAND CHILDREN COME OVER THEY CAN SIT COMFORTABLY AS WELL. WE JUST OPENED UP THE LEAVES. I LOVE THAT THIS IS WOOD AND NOT MADE WITH FORMALDAHYDE LIKE OTHERS. I NEED A HIP REPLACEMENT AND WAS ABLE TO PUT IT TOGETHER MYSELF. ONCE I PUT IT TOGETHER I HAD MY SON PUT IN MY DINING AREA.

Love this table! It came faster than the estimated delivery date and was easy to put together. The directions were very clear and it took me less than an hour to get it all done by myself. I am not handy at all, so I was very slow and careful, but I still say it was easy to put together. I just had to unscrew one of the three hinges where you attach a leaf of the table because it was a tad crooked and didn't line up with the drilled holes. Easy to fix. The table is very cute and sturdy and the perfect size for my small studio apartment. The two drawers give me a little more storage and the leaves give me the option of expanding space when I need the table to function more like a desk. Great buy! Would highly recommend.

This table is great. It is not hard to assemble but I will add some tips because after assembly getting it on the wall was tricky. Follow directions but after you assemble and know what you have it is easier if you unscrew the three hinges that hold the table to the T bar. Only unassembled one side to release table top. Now you have the assembled T to place on wall mark holes and drill. I used wood glue on joint with top of T for tighter joint. I also drilled into one wall stud for better security. Once T is secure to wall raise table top and reattach the three hinges. It is easiest if you have a low stool and get under it to reattach. It works great for laundry folding.

My husband and I purchased the round dual drop leaf dining table with the natural top and white base finish. It fits perfectly in our little breakfast nook. Four seat comfortably when both leaves are extended but we can fit five easily as well. The table shipped quickly; it actually arrived a day earlier than I thought it would (probably has more to do with UPS making late deliveries). I am giving this table four stars for several reasons: 1) the legs aren't as substantial as I would have liked. They aren't bad but they cheapen the look. If they weren't so "flat" it would really add to the quality. 2) one of the leaves does not open flush to the table top. It is a bit irritating. 3) the packaging was very secure but in order to accomplish that they stapled strapping to the bottom of the table. The staples are made of soft metal and broke off when I tried removing them leaving sharp shards behind. This would not normally be an issue since its on the bottom of the table but we have a small child that might scratch her head.Pros: solid wood, pretty color, perfect size, good price, easily assembledCons: leaf not flush with top, packaging difficult to remove, legs look cheap

I did not realize that it only had one hinged panel when I ordered it, I was under the impression there was one on both ends. The finish on the table was very nice wood and had no gouges, holes or was splintered. The holes to attach the panel to the table were so close to the edge they all had to be moved and redone, or they would have splintered and broken as the screws are much bigger than the holes. I was not able to do that myself and had to hire someone to do it which worked out ok. No one will ever see it as the hinges are even and the table will always be used with a table cloth in place. I still wish it had panels on both ends but that is my fault for not seeing that when ordering. It is a nice size for 2-3 and we have squeezed 4 people around it once.

arrived in a timely manner and very well packed all pieces were protected and there was no damage noted except for one little splitting of the wood on one of the legs but it did not affect the structural component of the metal sleeve for the screw. I really did love my counter height table that I also purchased from Wayfair along with some very sturdy comfy chairs but I moved into a tiny apartment and I just did not have the room for it so thats why I had to start shopping for a smaller size and also I wanted to go back to standard size. I was especially looking for drop leaf tables and found exactly what I wanted with this particular table. the legs are solid wood as stated the top is solid wood also but you can tell its been piecemealed together but they did a good job as it looks very nice and very sturdy. with this table in my small kitchen living room combo I have more opportunity for placement so thats definitely a plus. somebody commented that the chairs that I purchased to go with the table looked so elegant and they do I think they could also double as living room seating. thanks Wayfair for having just what I need.

I am very happy with this table. I purchased it for a very small space and it is a perfect size. Especially with the drop leaf option, by putting the flat side against the wall, it causes no issues with flow in and out of the kitchen, and can be opened up to seat four when needed. The table itself is attractive, solid and came in well packaged and in perfect shape.It was not too complicated to assemble. Everyone who has seen it, compliments it's size and usefulness in a small space. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a tight area for dining. The finish color looks even better in person - a rich dark brown and the design looks good with both traditional, transitional and contemporary spaces.

They are gorgeous! - Design: 5 stars - Varnish: Beautifully done. No spot was missed. - Assemble: 5 stars (So easy that any caveman can do it. I'm not very versed in putting things together, but I did it in 10 min max) - Size: 5 stars - Color: 5 stars (Frankly, the color and pattern look better in person. It's vibe is very deep and mature if that makes sense.) - Quality: 5 stars (They are so sturdy that I can imagine using this for over two decades at least) - Misc: the box is very very heavy so you would need at least two people to safely move it inside the house. In a nutshell, I would definitely recommend this table to anyone in need of a dining table.
