I've been wanting a bench like this for a while now. Over the last 3 years, I've looked at probably hundreds of them. I finally found this one and it looked perfect online, but it has flaws in person. Pros: I ordered the slate blue, and it's the exact color I wanted. The velvet is soft and I like the tufted top. Overall, it has a very nice, elegant look. It also has good storage. I put a king size quilt and 2 king size pillow shams in there and still have room for more. Cons: Shipping took forever. The hardware bag was not secured and the hardware was strewn all about the box. We were missing 2 washers and had to go up to the hardware store. One of the holes on the arm was filled halfway up with wood and thus the screw would not fit. My husband had to dig the wood out of the hole, which took some time. At this point, he was ready to send it back. Luckily, his love for me is greater than his hatred for assembling cheap furniture, so he said a few bad words and soldiered on. Another one of the holes had been covered by material, so we had to poke through it. There are multiple stains on the fabric that I so far haven't been able to get out. I'm not sure what these are from, but we thought possibly it was grease from the hardware that was loose in the box. The nail head detail is extremely poorly executed. The lines are not straight, and the nail heads are not spaced evenly. Additionally, the hinges have not been attached that well. Many of the screws are crooked and are not sitting flush. I'm concerned about how long this bench will last. There seems to have been no quality control in the manufacturing process. Anyone who thinks this was made well either got a totally different bench than I did, or they did not look closely enough. The fact that the "regular" price of this item is shown as $806 is a joke.
