Best Blinds & Shades With Reviews

We bought 2 of these blinds to make sure we really liked them, and we liked them so much we bought more for the rest of our house. They are made very well and the quality is fantastic. I wanted something old school and even though the blind itself is not fabric, they look like fabric at first glance. I love the chain that opens and closes the blinds. They remind me of the elementary school I attended in the 60s. Another plus, is my husband says they were very easy to install.

I have had this about 2 months now and am very happy with the product. It has a grey linen fabric look that is very stylish and softens the "roller shade" appearance. It is not fabric, though- it's a plastic, which I understood from the product description. IMO the plastic is a nice weight for durability. Been very happy with the value, quality and look. We found installation pretty easy to handle; although it did not come with clear instructions you could figure out how it needs to go.

Wish I could give 4.5 - love the shade and how it turned out in our window, but 2 minor complaints security cord piece arrived broken (see photo). It ended up being fine, we just affixed the broken side towards the window so the naked eye can’t see it. Also wish there were plastic covers that covered the inside of the brackets so you can’t see the gear for the cord. However, looks pretty good and the shade itself is heavy and high quality, worth the price.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to install this inside the window frame like we originally planned because installation brackets were a little too large for the frame. This kit allows you to install in or outside of the window frame, so we did it outside and they look great! They block out the light and offer great privacy. They look better installed than I initially thought so I’m really pleased with them. They are relatively easy to install, but I highly recommend getting a system down and making sure you have a level. It took two of us to install these since our windows are large, but if you have smaller windows, you could definitely install yourself.

Best blackout Roman blind for the money. Shipping was on time as usual. I installed them the same day they arrived. After removing the old mini blinds installation took about 30 minutes to install 4 blinds. This type of blind utilizes a tension clip mount that is secured to the window frame by 2 wood screws. Mounting locations give you more flexibility than a standard mini blind. Looking at the top of the blind you will see the coil spring mechanism in the middle and the pull lines that run to the sides. The mounts can be used anywhere along the mounting bar that doesn't interfere with the coil spring mechanism. Unlike mini blind mounts that require screw drivers to go through mounting holes in the typical "box" style mount with slide in lock plates, these mounts utilize a front "U" channel to hold the front of the mounting bar and then a metal tension clamp that simply snaps into the lower rear of the mounting bar. The color, light gray, was as pictured online and matched the new paint on our walls. These blinds keep the sun out of the room and will also help keep it cooler. These are not our first set of Roman blinds purchased from Wayfair. If you think mini blinds are dust magnets, a pain to clean, and are generally disgusting junk, then you should buy this style blind. Cleaning is as easy as pulling the blind down to its full length and using a handheld vacuum to get the dust off the fabric. Quick and easy.

Very happy with these blinds, the price, and speed of delivery. I bought four of these for my living room. I was looking at other options elsewhere which cost 3 times as much and would have taken much longer to arrive. The detail on these is really beautiful and unique. They let in some light during the day and look much more see-through, while at night they look totally solid (at least from the inside). I didn't give them 5 stars because of the valance return. There are 2 pieces which need to be applied on the sides of the valance to edge it. These are cheaply made and 2 fell apart as we were installing them. Fairly easy to fix with a bit of glue as one end wouldn't be visible, but still... The other issue is that there are no instructions on how to put these pieces on, so you have to wing it. All in however, I am very happy with these blinds and how they look. I would definitely purchase again. Update - just pulled the blinds down to watch a movie and even tho they let light through they block the reflection to the TV. Very happy

Decent quality product and looks good once hung. The splines that hold the moulding together don't create really tight or solid miters, but again, it looks okay once assembled and hung. If you are doing and 'outside mount' (which I was), the blind will not clear any window trim if you mount directly to the wall. In order for it to work you will either need to mount it to the trim or use wood spacer blocks to bring it out at least level with the trim. If you go the spacer route, the moulding will no longer go all the way to the wall (if you use the provided moulding attachment clips). I was able to get the moulding clear to the wall by foregoing the clips and using strong adhesive tape to attach the molding directly to the blind header.

I could not believe that I was able to purchase blinds of this quality for this price. They are custom fit to my windows so they work great. They were a decent project to install, but I am not very handy and I was still able to do them myself once I watched a YT video and figured out how to do it. Took about 15-20 mins per window after 30 mins or so to learn the first couple. One key note is that they DO subtract the half inch on each side, so if your window is 34 in wide, and you choose 34 in blind, the blind width will be 33 in. There is about 1.25 inches of space within the bracket that is secured to the inside edge of the window frame so if you get them a little smaller than your window, they will still fit inside the bracket without falling out as long as your measurements were within 1.25 inches per side. Very good quality and I was happy that I was able to furnish my entire new home with blinds for MUCH cheaper than I would've gotten them done elsewhere.

This shade looks and works well. Since they are pre-cut, you have to hope that it reasonably fits your opening. We have a 3" gap on either side but that doesn't negate its effectiveness of blocking afternoon sun. The materials allows sufficient light through while still blocking the sun's heat. Installation was easy. It can be converted to ceiling mount by changing the end brackets. Fortunately I did not have to do that which saves some time. It is designed to be mounted into wood. I installed it into aluminum patio cover using sheet metal screws and washers purchased separately. Some things to consider: this shade cannot tolerate much wind, the bungee loops to secure the shade bottom to clips to hold the shade in the wind are quite short and won't reach far (I am replacing them with longer loops), and you might want multiple clips to secure the shade at different heights. This works well enough that we are buying a second one to cover the next section of the patio.

I ordered two of these shades. The packaging was was good as so they could survive the shipping process. The quality is excellent for that price point and size. Installation was simple with the guidelines included. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star review is because of the short length of the bungee cord used to secure the shade on windy days. The length of the cord was approzimately 10”. After tying the two ends together, the length ended up to be about 5”. This was way too short for my situation based on my patio size. How about providing 2 feet of cord and let the customer cut to needed length.

Pros Pulley system seems durable. Really easy to install the rail if doing top mount installation. They block quite a bit of light. Fairly easy to install once you figure out the template. QR code points to a better set of install instructions. Cons Not being able to adjust the shade stops. Instead I have to manually set the reveal for the inside 2 shades panels. Shade fabric protector clips (where the pull bar would rub against the fabric) were a pain to put on, but at least they should not fall off. Install tips Cut shade fabric with utility knife using a level as the guide. Velcro is 14” below the end 14” reveal on bottom if cutting to length. Which is what I did.

Very happy with this product! Fits perfectly for most patio doors and pretty simple to install if you know what you are doing. Just be aware that the instructions include very few explanations or even words so if you have never hung vertical blinds before then please do your walls and yourself a favor get help from a friend or YouTube. It does come with template but doesn’t really explain where to put the middle two wall mounts. Just be sure not to place them too close to the center mount otherwise you won’t be able to attach them to outer rails. All in all very happy with this purchase!

Great blinds for a good price. Easy enough to install (takes a little strength to push the blinds into the bracket). Make sure you place the brackets as far to the ends as you can. I made the mistake of using previously drilled holes so our brackets are a little too far in and the blinds bow at the end slightly now (69” model). I will have to redo it when I have the chance. Good material and the cordless mechanisms work well. My only beef is that the 36” models and the 69” model don’t have the exact same style of curvature on the blinds themselves, so all three blinds (36”, 69” and 36”) across a 12’ window don’t line up exactly, but it is what it is.

These shades are perfect. We installed them in our outdoor gazebo to block the strong afternoon sun and they do a great job. Not sure why they’re marketed as “blackout” blinds as they don’t darken a room as much as a blackout curtain would. They do offer a great level of privacy and cut a ton of sun, which is ideal. They are easy to roll up and down with the wand (we installed one wand on the left and one on the right). I’ve included photos of inside the gazebo looking out, and outside the gazebo looking in, to give a sense of the privacy attained. I didn't realize how important the bungee tiedowns were until we sat outside on a breezy day. LOVE that these shades stay put in a breeze when the bungees are in place, and they're very discreet as well.

I LOVE these shades! I bought a different style of cooleroo shade last year and wasn’t happy with it, so was a little nervous ordering these. I could not be happier! They were fairly easy to mount, I love the cranking mechanism-works really well. I need them mainly to block late afternoon-early evening sun, and they do a good job. They hang on a grape arbor with posts spaced 8 ft apart, so the bungee anchors don’t work for me, but having the little bungee cords there allows me to tie a cord from end to end, which I can hook onto an Lhook on the posts; I can also use them to hook the shades together so they move as one-works really well! I highly recommend them! This was my first order from Wayfair and it inspired me to order some outdoor rugs for the patio to complete my new “room”. Anxiously awaiting their arrival!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this sun protection item in exchange for my honest opinion, and it does definitely works, but I have some things I require from it before I say I 100% support the item. First, I know the pictures look silly, but I am trying to buy a new pergola, so I didn't want to put this on the current one that I have had for 12 years. So, in order to still use the product but also be comfortable, I used a double folding chair with an umbrella. It was a great temporary usage of this item that allowed me to relax in the sun but also use it. I included a photo of the weather for today which is 93 degrees in Texas and I was outside at about 5:43pm to 6:46pm because I wanted to give this an hour of usage before judging on multiple days and I will say that I did notice a big enough difference that I didn't feel like a baked potato but I think it worked much much better when I folded the fabric in half and used it that way instead. Again it was 93 degrees on multiple occasions, so I felt this sweatiness that I did not enjoy from the weather but when under this fabric I appreciated the reprieve from the extreme levels of heat especially when I turned it on the "right" side of things. It was also very easy to open and unroll, so that was great if you were using the product and wanted something easy to set up and use. I will say that as I mentioned earlier, doubling things up worked much better, so I don't know if the company could make a thicker fabric specifically for hotter locations or beneath the Mason dixon line. It feels like a thick wicker like fabric which set my mind at ease when unrolling it and using it because i knew it would at least protect me from the sun better than something flimsy made but again just make it slightly thicker for hotter days. All in all, I would suggest this for lukewarm or slightly hot days, but if you are dealing with a scorcher, I would suggest doubling the fabric up in order to avoid the heat. It feels thick or wicker like so I felt confident that it would at least try to protect me from the heat but I will say I noticed that it works much better on one side versus the other and again I felt safer or more protected when I doubled it up. I'd say buy this if you want to use your backyard more because it did reduce the harsher sun rays when I sat outside and allowed me to relax more than if I just sat outside with no protection. 4/5 Nice product, and I would suggest

These blinds are not quite as well-made as some---slightly flimsy. And they are difficult to "push" up and "pull" down. We are using them in a setting where, after the initial installation, the blinds will remain in place and will not need to be raised or lowered. They look good on the windows from inside and out and the alabaster color is quite nice. They serve their purpose well!
