The clock is awesome. There is some assembly required. The instructions include pictures for each step to make assembly easy. The pendulum has to be adjusted for the clock to maintain accurate time. It takes a little patience and about 2 days to get it right. My clock was running behind time. I had slide the pendulum weight up to get the time to track. It is not a difficult task. I really love this Cuckoo wall clock. I am just not sure it is a genuine Black Forest cuckoo clock and probably should have not cost as much as I paid. I read that Black Forest cuckoo Clocks "come with a certificate -- written in German -- from the Black Forest Clock Association." The only paperwork that came with my clock is a brochure from a company called Engstler. The real Black Forest cuckoo clocks are supposed to have either a serial number or manufacturer name stamped on the back of the clock. My clock has a number written in pen somewhere on the back. I also noticed a discrepancy in the clock I received versus the one depicted on the website. My clock came with a black face behind the hands. I like the look of the brown face in the website photo better. I do love that the bird comes out of the house and cuckoos the number of times as the hour and that it plays a little melody after that.
