Bought this to create an erasable meal planner on the wall of my kitchen. I turned the paper to the plain white side, tucked the matting in behind and put the frame back together. It works terrific for this purpose.

Stylish and just what I was after

Beware - mat board color is inconsistent between sizes!! I ordered three sizes of this frame to hang together. They are nice quality, but the mat board on half of them is cream and the other half is white. The return process is a disaster and I can’t recommend based on those two things. They are nice frames so if you only need one or only need one size, I would still order them.
