Best Box Springs & Foundations With Reviews

We were so pleasantly impressed with this mattress foundation. First of all, the whole thing came in a really compact box. It was so compact that I was convinced that it was only a partial shipment. But, once opened, we simply noted how beautifully space was utilized to fit all the pieces into that compact package. Other companies can certainly take a lesson from Zinus in that area! Installation was a cinch. Everything you need is in the box, even a cute rubber mallet! I looked at the instructions and they were very clear, but it was so intuitive that you really don't even need the instructions. Each piece fit together perfectly, and my daughter and I were done in 15 minutes! The foundation looks very sleek, we love the wood feet, and the metal bars feel very sturdy. We got the gray fabric, and my daughter is extremely happy with how it looks. The whole thing is very sturdy, and creak free. It is also wonderful not to have to spend money and space on a box foundation. Great job Zinus!

The quality is great. The cool, unusual way of assembling with it's own tools was easy to do and not too time consuming. The super ending to this experience is there was a nice wrap band around 3 Occasional Cards (2 Hello and 1 Thank You) and the band around them thanked us for letting Zinus "put their product under the same roof with the things and people we love most". It went on to say other nice things but the ending words, referring to the enclosed occasional cards the band was wrapped around said, "...send a card to someone you love. I'ms sure you can think of someone who would be ecstatic to receive some kind words from you in their mailbox." I love it! How thoughtful and also a great reminder that we all know someone- friend or family or neighbor, etc. - whose day would be brightened by a few kind words and them knowing we're thinking of them. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE PRODUCT BUT I ALSO HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!

For now, I'm giving this a 4 stars. It arrived on time and the box was in good shape. I opened the box and just took a quick look. I say this because I am moving into a new apartment at the end of this month and I will need this box spring for the second bedroom I will have there. I still need a frame, mattress, etc... Please be patient lots more to come in the next few weeks. I can hardly wait until I am at the point where I am adding real pictures... :) This is not much of a picture!

Item came as advertised in box and even came a little earlier than expected. Assembly was very simple and easy and even came with a rubber mallet which is the only tool needed to assemble. Instructions were clear and easy to read however the parts were number and it was just a matter of matching the numbers so the instructions weren’t really needed except to reassure I was doing it right. Cover was a bit of a struggle but that was mostly because I was working alone and it is a very tight fit so if you’ve got an extra set of hand for this step I recommend it. Great item. We didn’t expect to assemble this boxspring, but found it perfectly ok because we could see how well is boxspring was constructed! This is so worth the 30 minutes it took to put together. The framed periphery fit perfectly inside our platform bed and provided just a bit more height for us now that our cats are gone. It fit directly onto our platform slats, and we now can return to a normal elastic sheet vs tucking a larger one into platform. The slats are an ergonomic 3 inches apart which provide excellent support. We received delivery within one week and it was delivered right to my door! I highly recommend this 4 inch boxspring!

Ok, this is definitely worthy of a review. I was bouncing back and forth between this and a foundation that was about 20 cheaper but that had to be assembled with tools. I read a couple reviews on the one that had to be assembled and I saw high reviews stating it only took about an hour to assemble. Then I read the reviews on this and how quick and easy it was. I decided to pay the extra 20 and save the headache of having to assemble the other. The package came today and the packaging was relatively small. When I took the two foundations out of the packaging (king set so it came with two twin size) I couldnt believe that they would be able to expand to fit. But literally about 60 seconds later, I had the first one unfolded and ready to be put on the bed. The second one took me about 30 seconds to unfold now that I was a pro after doing the first one. Not kidding, I had about a minute and a half invested in unfolding these. It was so easy it was almost comical. 20 extra well spent and an hour of labor saved (easy labor but still an hour saved). And the foundations are of excellent quality as well. As good, and truthfully better, than any foundation Ive ever own. The frame is sturdy and solid, no squeaks or movement. The covers are very nice also and already come installed. All you have to do is unfold each side of the frame and zip the cover, thats it! The frame expands up to form the box as its being unfolded. The engineering of this makes it incredibly simply. You will not be disappointed, that I can assure you. Hope this helps someone else who might be on the fence like I was.

I’m not a big writer of reviews, however I had to so that the Wayfair customer service received the worthy praise for getting me this bunker board for the Kenworthy Upholstered Sleigh Bed that said it didn’t need a box spring, but clearly needed something to support my memory foam mattress as it had only come with 4 slats for a base. The customer service had this bunker board delivered to solve the problem without additional cost to me. Great customer service! It completely made me a Wayfair loyal customer. I will always go here first.

This wooden box spring was exactly what I was looking for our new Memory Foam Mattress. The brand, as most of them, requires wooden slats bed/box spring and distance between the slats less than 2.75". There you go. I purchased it on sale, it was CAD 400 for a King size. The delivery was not happy experience though, it took a month to get it home, thanks to the great Wayfair customer service, but the product is great, easy to assemble, just screw the 4 corners of the frame, pull over it the pre connected together by a ribbon slats and attach them by V****o to the frame. No squeaking so far, the cover fits well (a little tricky to put it on, but my husband and me made it). No smell, the zipper of the cover is good, no any issues. Happy customers :), we have got completely natural bed and box spring. I would definately recommend it and would buy it again. Thank you.

Pretty sturdy! Nice upholstery fabric used. Very very easy to put together. Four sides and each side interlocks with each other and then you put a very hard thick plastic bolt in each corner through the locked corners. The slats come wrapped or not wrapped. I chose the wrapped because I had no idea what they would be like un-wrapped? But the wrapped slats are in a heavy polyester type of fabric? After you have put the frame together you take each set of slats and lay them over the top and they lay over a 1 inch lip that runs along the rails. And they do stay in place. But there isnt any velcro along the lip which I thought there would be so the slats dont move? But surprisingly they dont! It is the fabric I assume that keeps them from slipping out of the groove? Its works for me and my new foam mattress that I just purchased from Wayfair also! Thankyou again Wayfair!

I am sold on Wayfair. The shipping was fast. The price and quality are awesome This new metal folding foundation was more compact and lightweight. Instead of bulky and heavy compared to the old to the wooden boxsprings . It was so lightweight I was able to carry this metal foundation up 3 flights of stairs, unpacked it and opened it out alone.It only took me two hours. I am an almost 60 year old woman and I have back, knee and foot issues. I am disabled and could not believe that I did not get out of bed due to pain. Instead I woke feeling soo refreshed. I would highly recommend a metal boxspring for people who are over weight and with back issues like me. I will never buy wooden box spring or ome that doesnt fold again. Initially I had the same issues of it folding up on its own when I tried to stretch it out. Putting the cover on and opening it up alone were more difficult. The top and the bottom pieces of the cover came apart. I hate zippers. Even I was a able put them back together. The cover felt almost too small. I had to stretch it to zip it up. It now looks like a more expensive bed now. I also bought a head board and nightstand from Wayfair. Next I want the chest and dresser to match them.

I bought the Lyster Platform Bed in the summer for my guest room (also 5/5 for price and function) and for the record it totally does NOT need a box spring - I have it set up with the Costco Springwall Campus II Double Mattress (really sorry Wayfair) and it is very sturdy and super comfortable even when my 200+ pound Uncle stays in town. He raves about how comfortable he is. Well our family are sheet tuckers, and without a box underneath the Lyster bed is just not quite as tidy and cozy as I'd like. The box (it is not a box "spring", just a wood frame box) finishes off the look for me, the sheets tuck in nicely and the boards do not squeak at all. It was incredibly easy to put together - I'm a 54 yr old female so I did have to open the box first at the front door and then make a few trips downstairs with the 3 large pieces, then the planks but not a big deal at all. I used an electric drill for the planks - came together in probably an hour of so - super easy. Buy it - you'll be happy!

This box spring is brilliant! We finally can use the bed in our guest bedroom. We have a queen sized bed with a platform bed frame. Our mattress and boxspring were expensive orthopedic ones, but when we moved into our new (old) home, the boxspring didn’t fit up the narrow staircase (with two turns) to the third floor! (Plus small doors—the house was built in 1906.) So the mattress had to go on the platform bed (luckily the moving guys dissembled and reassembled it) without its support, meaning nothing heavier than our cats could nap on it. Until I saw the Huxley High Profile Box Spring on Wayfair, I didn’t realize these existed! I simply unboxed the metal frame and carried the elements up the stairs (no need to lug the whole 50 lbs up in one go). As you can see, the parts are clearly labeled with numbers, and the directions were easy! The third photo shows all the parts—really, it is easier than your average LEGO project. I had the box spring put together in about 35 minutes, and the cage (as I call it) fits perfectly in the queen sized platform bed. The grey fabric cover was easy to put on, too, and the mattress slid right over it. Now our mattress is above the edge of the platform again, and we finally can have our friends visit for the weekend, since the mattress will not fall on to the floor. The bed seems as comfy as ever and is well supported. This is a great product if you need a boxspring, or can’t get your one piece boxspring up narrow stairs.

Bit of an odd review but here goes: this low profile box spring is great- it helped my mattress survive a flood! My room is in the basement, which flooded under 5 inches of water. The supports on my wood bed frame gave out, and the box spring pieces fell to the floor. A day later, I had throw the box springs out cause of water damage causing mold worries/smell- but was amazed to notice that not a single piece on them was cracked and the fabric wasn’t even torn or anything. If it had cracked, my mattress probably would have been in the water and ruined. These survived what a wood bed frame couldn’t. Could’ve been a coincidence, but hey, 5 stars from me. Other than that: it’s still exactly as described: a cheaper box spring that’s low profile and split in 2 for easier carrying in tight spaces. I, a petite woman on the weaker side, was able to carry and fit it down a spiral staircase in a Chicago apartment on my own, and carry it back up while it was soaked to throw it out.

When I purchased my sons bedroom set 4yrs ago it needed a bunkie board ( to this day the furniture store has FAILED! To order deliver after multiple request) from day 1 the mattress would sink in the middle even though it had wood slats. And not because of sons weight he is 118 5’12. This is a long term purchase even if we ever swap bed sets since it also works as a box spring. Thank you Wayfair!! As always absolutely no disappointments!! My 17yr old son put it together in about 20min, it includes tape to hold the mattress in place. Delivery was right on time with no box damage.

Super easy to put together and even how-to-put-together for Dummies instructions. I was nervous when I read some of the reviews that it was difficult based on the instructions, but perhaps they have changed up their instructions; it was super easy to do. I put this together in a small bedroom with little wiggle room because I wasn't sure if I could get it in to that room after it was assembled due to the location of the room vs hallway space, but I was able to take it out with no issues, barely, but it was okay, so it looks like I won't need to disassemble when I move (happy)... It seems solid and will be a good addition for a new mattress I bought for that bed. It fits the queen bed frame perfectly, too. I love the ratchet tool they put in there... so much better than just an Allen wrench you have get plyers to grab a hold of with to fully tighten the bolts... Great little tool! My only negative comment is about the cover because it's not very thick and almost too loose, but it works for what it does; just would be nicer if it was higher quality. Also, if you have to assemble it on a bed, for example, you'll have to wash that blanket or comforter because it puts off little black shavings (not sure if it's paint shavings or metal shavings, but it will leave little black specks everywhere); just a heads up. Wayfair is awesome and they have wonderful customer service; I just love them. My only grievance is with the "delivery" from Fedex and has nothing to do with Wayfair. Normally, they (FedEx) are great and will bring packages up to my door (9 steps), but they left this very long, heavy, and awkward box in my open mailroom where I live and I had to get this difficult box up by myself to my apartment (no family or friends here) and although I was on the verge of tears by the time I got it in my apartment, I got it done. I was home and they just dropped and ran... I would have even helped him bring up the 9 steps, but alas.... 58-year-old me with a knee injury got it upstairs... (Second time they have done this) :( Assembly was great and I like the product, so it worked out. Just nervous about Fedex bringing the mattress I just ordered (sigh) in a couple of weeks. I'll have to change my delivery for SIGNATURE REQUIRED so they can't just "drop and run." Other than that, all I can do is just hang out on the steps on the day of delivery (scheduled to be delivered on my birthday, so I'm hoping they will take it up the 9 steps for me [fingers crossed])... Either way, it will work out and I can't wait to get the additional mattress I ordered for this particular box frame. My son is in the Navy, stationed overseas, and I'm trying to get a room ready for when he can come home for a visit and this frame is for his new room. :)

I am amazed. You cant always go off of reviews. I thought this was a regular box spring mattress. I was confused opening the box and seeung a lot of frames and then some material. I said, did they think that i asked fir a mattress topper or just put something extra in the box? I was confuse because i bought a heavy duty bed frame too. I looked at the picture instructions and became frustrated. But i realized there was another page that pin pointed where each item goes. Im a 52 yr woman. I did this on my on. The min ratchet was a great tool. Just put the screw on the ratchet because it was difficult for me to screw on with my fingers. I just layed everything out on each side. Now the SURPRISE was that I looked on the page and said where is my BOX SPRING MATTRESS. Well to my surprise, the page showed that i pull the covering over the bed frame and then screw in the wood legs. Now my bed frame just came today sept 20 3 days after but i can put it to use. This is better is a 2 in 1 bed frame box spring. It took about an hour only because i did a 12hr shift and was tired. You can really fix this within a 10-20 min time frame. You will not Regret this purchase. There is room under neath bes ,where i put the other bedframe under and my 2 wobbly mattresses are so stable that i e been having such a great sleep. My bed is up high, so im kind of glad i didnt purchace another mattress.

I've ordered the twin size mattress frame for my daybed at home and it's great. .very sturdy for my memory foam mattress. The only issue is that it's a bit narrow and it may have been better to have gotten a bunkie board instead. I wanted something that would give additional height and stability for the mattress which is why I ordered it. Would definitely recommend but would order for regular bed frame in the future
