The larger trash can fits perfectly in our kitchen space. I never realized how much getting a nice-looking trash can could update your kitchen! It closes nice and quiet with no problems and the bag stays put when you place it correctly. The only thing I do not like about it, is that it is a bit narrower than I expected. It fits our trash bags but it's hard to get the bags all the way full without packing the trash down periodically. If you don't press it down and pull the bag out thinking it's full, you will notice that you could have filled it a lot more. Other than that, this can is excellent. The fact that it comes with a small matching one for the bathroom is just amazing at the price level. You won't find a cheaper set that works as well and looks as nice!

I love the no touch sensor. The trash cans are very clean looking. I’ve been able to easily place a tall kitchen bag into the trash can with the upper edge hanging over the can, put the can ring over the bag onto the rim of the trash can, then fold the bag edge to the inside of the can and place the lid on top. No bag showing on the outside! It looks stylish and clean. The little can is just too cute for my bathroom! Worth every penny. I’ve had mine for a couple of years and just recently replaced the batteries. Each can uses a different size of battery…Ds and Cs I think. Double check. I had to go to the store twice because I thought I knew, but didn’t get it right. I’ll never go back to the step on or swing top or lift lid again.

This item is almost perfect for my needs. There are two reasons why it’s not absolutely perfect: 1. the lid does not stay on well - it’s weight distribution is awkward and seems to tilt when you put it on the base. In addition, the lid doesn’t have a tight grip on the base. From Umbra, I expected a better design that might have a locking lid or a concealed rubber grip. 2. there isn’t a way to line the can for use in a bathroom without some of the bag liner showing. the bag interrupts the clean lines. I suggest that Umbra could solve these problems with a rubber grip on the inside lip of the lid and/or can and some sort of ring (or the same grip that keeps the lid in place) that would keep a liner in place on the inside of the can.

After much research and debate I chose this trash can and I couldn't be more happy with it. I needed a can that would withstand outdoor use for dog poo bags. I was sick of the odor near the porch despite double bagging poo. We tried a small metal step can but it was clunky and still had a horrible odor. This can is great! The swing top makes it easy to deposit the dog's business without having to manipulate it with my hands too much. Everything stays clean. The top is secure enough that even exposed in the rain water does not get inside. There is zero odor now and I love it. I have placed a liner inside as well as an additional liner that I can remove each time I empty it and replace. Best purchase ever and I will be buying more for the bathrooms.

It adds a pop of classy gold appeal which in and of itself is both simple and eye-catching. However, because the trash can is not metal but of a plastic material it is very lightweight. I have used this trash can for a few weeks now in my home office and have had no issue with the paint coming off or any scuffs appearing with regular use. Overall, I think this a classy choice for a trash can and would recommend it to those looking for an interesting yet practical trash can.

I have had SimpleHuman products in my house for a little over a decade now so when it came time to furnish my newly remodeled bathroom I knew which website to turn to. This can is not only the right size but the open top is pefect for my application. Small rectangle open top stainless steel cans are easy enough to find but to find one so well made with attention to detail and quality craftsmanship is rare. If you are considering this can…just buy it.

I bought 3 of these to replace other bathroom trash cans that were a stainless finish. Because the only place to put the trash in each bath is next to the toilet and there are 3 boys that lack great aim in our house, the stainless over time started to get rust and corrosion spots from little splashes of urine. These black plastic versions are great because I can clean them, the capacity is larger than the previous models we had and they are quiet when the lid comes down. I highly recommend these

Okay so although this is probably designed for office work in mind, I sought this out for its convenience and hygienic properties as a kitchen compost bin. Hear me out. Previously we had compost bins that require you to open a lid with one (possibly dirty) hand and scoot the vegetable trimmings in. All sorts of cross-contamination, and all the compost bins have small openings, so the vegetable trimmings would inevitably land outside the bin. With this can, you just hit it with your foot to open the lid, the opening is a little wider than an average-sized cutting board, and has a sufficient capacity so that you're not going out to the back yard to empty it every other day. Hey presto, convenient operation, no cross-contamination, makes cooking prep so much cleaner and more convenient. Solved so so so many problems for us.

I bought two (2) of these cans and one of them came with a dent in the lid. There was no damage to the box it was shipped in. The dent popped right out but that is why I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5. It does not change my mind about the products of SimpleHuman. I love everything I have purchased from them so far. Pros: Perfect for the bathroom. Easy to clean. Beautiful to look at. Great design. Cons: Not heavy enough.

Great little trash can. Very true to pictures. No assembly required. Note, the other reviews are correct. It is virtually impossible to use a bag or liner without it puffing out from under the lid. This is kind of a shame because the trash bin is slim and attractive, but a bag sticking out from under the lid ruins the look. I've opted to not use a bag and will just have to occasionally wash the inner plastic bin. That being said, I'm very loyal to Simple Human products and, except for the bag issue, this little guy doesn't disappoint.

Looked high and low for a small can with a flip lid to use along side my cat litter pan. I wanted to scoop daily and contain odors. I use a small 4 gallon garbage bag inside the liner and scoop the litter waste as needed. I have two inside cats and this can holds their waste for several days. Once the bag is 3/4 full, I pull it out , tie it shut and dispose. For my needs this has been the perfect solution. I am happy to have found this style and size can and am completely satisfied.

It’s perfect. We got a new puppy who likes to dumpster dive, so I needed to replace my open trash cans with ones with a lid. Most of these step on cans are either too big or super small. This can is the perfect size. It’s deep enough that you can easily reach the foot pedal next to the bathroom vanity, and it doesn’t look chintzy or cold. The white base with the stainless lid is very attractive. It arrived without a scratch too. Thank you, Wayfair!

The basket itself is quite handsome, sturdy, and as expected. The liner is a disaster. It is thin and wobbly clear plastic - and, it's actually too big for the basket! We cut the liner down a bit, and then made a slit and patched it with plastic sealing tape. I've make many purchases from Wayfair, and this is the first time that I have been in any way dissapointed with the product - I can live with it!

I LOVE IT!! What surprised me is the weight of this beautiful waste basket. This is not some flimsy piece at all. It's sturdy, strong & I all involved in bringing this to us!! In fact I'm ordering at least a 2nd one! I bought this for a new home we recently had built chose this for a nautical guest bedroom. Please forgive the light in this photo... yes, I dropped my camera & it cracked all 3 lenses. ::kicks rocks:: In no way will you regret this purchase!! Its fab!!

These are a bit smaller than I thought they would be (despite using a ruler to guesstimate size prior to purchase)... but I really do like them and love that the top ring comes off to replace a liner bag and then holds the top of the bag in place neatly. If I need to empty these a little more frequently it's no big deal. They're a good weight - not flimsy.

This light grey definitely has a pale blue in it, so if youre looking for a blue-grey it will fit in with the decor. If you want plain flat grey, its not going to look right. But it worked for us. This is the right sized trash bucket. If you cant eyeball 5 gallons Id say 1 and a half basketballs is about the size. I like that there is a plastic liner. It is flexible and lightweight, but has a nice shape.

I bought the whole set. Expensive, but beautiful. Treat them carefully, though. One in the set was chipped when it arrived. My husband was able to fix it by gluing the chipped piece back on with some clear Gorilla Super Glue Gel. You can't tell at all. We also put felt pads on the bottoms of some of the pieces to keep them from being damaged or damaging other things, like the bathroom vanity or the tile floor.
