I have two children (ages 3 and 19 months when I purchased this for Christmas in 2013), and did an extensive amount of research on various kitchens. First I wanted something gender neutral since my oldest is a boy, and second, I wanted something of good quality that could grow with them. I wanted a wood kitchen because I felt it would look nicer, last longer, and provide more storage than a plastic kitchen. I narrowed my choices down to this one and the Kidkraft Corner Kitchen. What finally sold me on this one was the fact that the counter height was taller as was the kitchen in general. I have to say I am really happy with my choice! My youngest (19 months at the time of purchase) was a tad short to reach inside the microwave and pull anything out, but she could open the door and put stuff in. Now at 28 months she has absolutely no problem (side note: she is off the charts tall for her age - which is why I chose the taller one to begin with). Other than the small reaching problem initially, it is perfect! There is an ample amount of storage both in the refrigerator/freezer, and in the oven and dishwasher. Just to give you an idea of how much it holds we have the following items stored in the kitchen itself: The Dishwasher holds: Green Toys Dish Set Kidkraft pots and pans All the various cooking utensils from the different play food sets Additional four cups I picked up from the Target dollar bin Oven Holds: Melissa and Doug Cookie sheet Melissa and Doug Pizza Melissa and Doug Birthday Cake Refrigerator Holds: Melissa and Doug Felt Sandwich Set Small World Living Peel and Play Vegetables and Fruit Pancakes (I made) Hape Salad Hape Hamburgers and Hot Dogs Melissa and Doug Condiment Bottles Melissa and Doug Refrigerator Food Empty kid size yogurt cups Haba Vegetables Plan Toys Spaghetti Freezer Holds (and could hold more): Ice Cream Freezer Foods from the Melissa and Doug Refrigerator Food set Sitting out on the top shelf and edge of the counter are the Hape Toaster and Hape Coffee Maker. There is STILL room for more if we wanted to add anything (which is totally unnecessary at this point). The only thing I would change about this kitchen is that I would add a third shelf inside the refrigerator just so it would be easier to organize, but like I said, it holds PLENTY of play food. The kitchen itself is well constructed. We've had no issues with workmanship, etc. It was a bit of pain to put together, but my husband I managed to do it in about 3 1/2 hours (definitely put it together before Christmas Eve!). I would also suggest waiting to tighten all the screws to the very end. It can make it difficult to get some of the holes/panels to line up correctly (we had an issue with back oven panel fitting into a groove, but once we loosened up some screws it went together just fine). Bottom line: both my kids LOVE this kitchen (my daughter especially, but my son will play with it, too). I love that it doesn't have noises and flashing lights and allows them to use their imagination and mimic real world scenarios. I am completely satisfied with my decision to purchase this kitchen and would definitely recommend it to others.. Stephanie. Tulsa, OK. 2014-09-07 22:35:01

Super cute little kitchen. It arrived with some small factory defects (paint chips, slight bubbling, a small crack in one of the boards) but nothing major that would be a deal breaker for a piece of toddler furniture. It did take my husband quite a while to put together but he said the directions were clear and all of the pieces lined up appropriately. That said, my daughters favorite parts are the ice dispenser that has 3 ice cubes and the two burners that light up and make a boiling sound when pressed on while “cooking”. I recommend if you like the look of the kitchen and want something more simple (not tons of lights/sounds).. Megan. Decatur, GA. 2021-10-26 23:19:38
