We bought this in October after looking at several microwave drawers. The microwave cooks well, a little hotter than our previous above range microwave. Because of the drawer style there is not turntable - we have not found that to be a problem. The only thing we have had to make sure that we adapt is to make sure that containers containing liquid are not too full because liquid will spill over the side of the container or cup when the drawer openscloses. We love that the drawer was an option so that we were able to put a hood over the range and not take up counter space with the microwave.

We've only had it installed for a few days, but so far so good. It has a solid feel overall and we like the interior coating (same one we had on our previous microwave). Wish it had a number keypad but we're getting used to using the dial. We use the "add 30 seconds" button multiple times to get to the time we want. The LED display is pretty bright. Wish it was the older style greenish digital display. While the numbers are well lit, from a distance it almost appears blurry because of the glare. Also wish the handle on the microwave was more like the model we bought 5 years ago. It was more rounded and matched our GE Profile Refrigerator. The handle on this one is more squared off on the edge. From the front it appears to match pretty well, though. The touch pad seems to be a lesser quality than the one we had before—plastic over the area seems to press in more and has a slightly more dimpled appearance. The exhaust fan works well. So far the microwave seems to be working well and has comparable power to our older model. Would recommend plugging your microwave into a surge protector as we suspect our other one went out due to a power surge after a brief power outage.

Very classy looking microwave. Actually very large inside. You see nothing but the clock unless you touch the screen. You could have the screen on all the time but I like the way it looks with just the clock lit up. I keep a microfiber cloth handy and wipe off fingerprints so easily. Nice large glass turntable inside. Extremely intuitive to use. It even has a clean steam feature. I would have purchased their matching fridge but they don't have a counter depth one. My girlfriends all hoped to see one because they love what I purchased so far. I love not having a handle to open it. Reminds me of the old days when you pushed a button and it popped open. People love the look of this microwave. My only issue the installers were great but they did not install it level. They came back and fixed it or so I thought. Its definitely off and I hate calling them again.

I love the features, intuitive controls and quiet-running of GE Microwaves. I have owned 4 JES model GE Microwaves consecutively, but they do not last long. My first one, manufactured in Vietnam, lasted over ten years. My next three, made in China, have all failed within 3 years. Knowing this, I always purchase an extended warranty so that I can repurchase using the warranty. I keep buying GE's, despite their lack of longevity, because they have the features I like: an interior light that stays on when you open the door (many other brands do not!), nicely laid out control panel, express cooking buttons up to 6 minutes plus a 30 second button, easy-to-use timer, easy-to-set clock, quiet running, six sensor-cook settings for beverage, potato, popcorn, vegetable, reheat and dinner plate. The defrost setting is easy to figure out, and the end-time chime beeps with a pleasant tone three times, then gives a reminder beep if door is not opened right away. The reminder beep (not an intrusive sound at all) will beep once a minute. This microwave heats evenly and thoroughly. The only thing I don't like about this model is that the interior light is much dimmer than the previous GE model I owned 3 times (is now discontinued) but at least the light stays ON when door is open, unlike many others. I researched this purchase extensively before buying another GE because I know that they don't last. But because I like the features, layout and quietness so much, it is worth it to me for the price of an extended warranty. Don't expect this model to last, but you will love it while it does!

Have had 2 mos. Very similar to the last one I had. I like it a lot, but I am not cooking whole meals, fancy things in it. I have the stainless model. Matches the stove/range/oven I purchased at the same time. The stove/oven works well, however, I HATE the plain, shiny black glass top. Previously, I had a fancier model, and it had a ceramic top with the light gray speckling throughout the black glass top. Cleaned easily, quickly, etc... This one is a pain in neck. Takes forever to get all the spots off, even w/ the recommended and included cerama-brite paste and scrubber. Plus, once you get the spots off, it's smeary and leaves streaks. I make my own glass/surface cleaner for everything: 1/2 rubbing alcohol, 1/2 water, 4 drops dish detergent (Dawn), 4 drops lemongrass essential oil. Spray bottle. This works WONDERS on this glass top, but then, being in the kitchen, when someone comes in to get a snack, or a drink, or whatever, it gets tiny white crumbs on it!!!! ARGGGGG. Now I've started covering the stovetop when not in use, with a taupe bath towel that sort of matches my granite. Would not buy plain black glass again. No brand.

After 18 years, my old GE Spacesaver Microwave died and I needed a replacement that would fit exactly into the limited space I had available. Have always liked GE products and was happy to find this one. I'm only hoping this one lasts even half as long because the quality of most newly-made appliances are not made like those made years ago. The photo online was a little deceiving from a "visual" standpoint, as I wasn't sure if the black front was a shiny finish or a matte finish. Even the person I chatted with online wasn't sure. It should be listed as part of the description. It looks matte online; however, it's a shiny (glossy) finish which is actually what I wanted to go with the other appliances in my kitchen. So far, I'm pleased with the quality and performance. The interior of this model is a little larger than my old one but the glass plate that you microwave on is smaller. I would have preferred it to be a bit larger when placing large containers/dishes on it to microwave. Overall, I'm pleased with the microwave oven and I found it to be reasonably priced.

First and foremost, the installation was a breeze; we simply used the existing GE mounting bracket from a previous GE over-the-range microwave oven that became faulty. However, the instructions includes templates for wall and cabinet drilling as well as all of the necessary hardware. The installation instructions recommends two people for lifting the unit into place. Please read and follow all of the included instructions for a proper and safe installation of your new GE Over-The-Range Microwave Oven. After opening it up, I read thru the included instructions. The instructions were very detailed and I was able to easily change the orientation of the blower fan. This was a very important step for our installation as we do not have an exhaust duct. A total of 4screws were removed to access the blower assembly housing and I was able to orient the fan towards the front of the microwave unit. Don't fret, the wire is plenty long enough to easily change the blower assembly's orientation. I had the luxury of having three people present for the install and just make sure you have someone to fish the cord through the hole before mounting into place. The microwave also comes with mounting instructions and template you can tape to the underside of the cabinets and to the wall where the mounting plate is to be installed. All necessary mounting hardware is also included. Install time took us less than 20 minutes, however, we were able to use the previous mounting plate that cam with our Ge microwave oven back in 2012. Read the instructions carefully. On to the JVM6175DKBB review. The GE over-the-range microwave oven, model: JVM6175DKBB performs superbly. Moreover, the microwave cooks very evenly and thoroughly; in addition, it also heats and boild liquids with ease. There are two things about this particular model that I like better than our previous GE microwave. First, the vent fan is noticeably quieter, although, while it's still audible on high and low settings, it's no where near as obtrusively loud as our previous model. Next, I like how this model contains two bulbs for the surface light unit. This makes our cooktop much easier to see. Key features include: .7 cu. ft. Capacity, Weight/Time Defrost, “Add 30 Seconds” Button, Melt Feature, 2-Speed, 300-CFM Venting System and Turntable On/Off. The black finish of the GE model JVM6175DKBB is also superb and matches all of our existing black GE appliances. However, it can attract fingerprints. I recommend wiping the unit with a microfiber cloth and try to avoid using paper towels as the paper towels could cause small surface scratches.

My previous over the range microwave was a massive combination of convection oven and microwave with a bunch of bells and whistles which we hardly ever used. It was about 9 years old and still worked fine. We were refreshing the kitchen appliances and just decided to get a new microwave also. I looked for something that was a basic microwave with good ratings. This one seemed to fit what we wanted. So far, it has functioned without issue. It had slightly less watts than the previous one and it may heat just a little lower, but hardly noticeable unless you are really timing it. It has a nice bright white interior that clean easy. It is a little smaller than our previous monster, but handle what we need. There are a few noticeable functional differences that I debated about lowering the score, but I decided it was more of a preference issue than a complaint so I keep it as a 5 star, and I will get used to it. The first is that the buttons are not sensitive at all, and you need to give them a “push” to work them. The con in this is that if I had to punch very many buttons, my finger would get sore – not really. The pro to this is that you can wipe the button panel clean without turning everything on – as I would with the old unit. The one thing I would change if I could, would be how the timer works. To activate the timer, you push the timer button and enter the time. To start the timer, you need to push the timer button again to start the countdown. To stop the timer, you need to push the timer button again. On my older unit, you would push the timer button, enter the time, and push the Start button. To stop the timer, you push the Cancel button. Just a different way of doing things and I will one day remember this. The one thing I do not like, but my wife does is that the unit has a 30 second add button. Pressing the button normally just starts the microwave cooking for 30 seconds. However, if you have set the timer, it will add 30 seconds to the timer and not cook for 30 seconds. The reason I don’t like it is because I use the timer for other appliances other than the microwave. In doing so I like to throw something in the microwave for a quick heat and – until now – just hit the add 30-minute button. Now I must hit a 1 minute or more button to get the microwave to start cooking. Well, this issue doesn’t warrant a divorce, but I guess I will have to live with her – uh, I mean, the microwave.

It's a very nice looking micro wave. I like it since it's a little smaller then what I had and it fits nicely on the counter. I've only had it a few days and it seems to heat the food very well. I was going to get a white one and this one caught my eye and got it instead. I like the handle since my husband has trouble seeing the button on the other micro wave and he can just grab the handle with this one to open it. I have pots made by this company yet that I got for a wedding gift and we are married 65 years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Faberware Microwave is a reasonably priced addition to my office and is compact and convenient. There was no assembly required, I just plugged into the regular receptacle in the wall and it was ready for action. The appearance seamlessly blends with the coffee station and makes my life easier with quickly heated lunch meals in minutes. The unit is not too heavy and the display is easily readable. The buttons are easy to understand and the 30 sec increments are useful. The tray spins smoothly and the food heats pretty uniformly. The sound is no different from the previous microwave and the capacity serves its purpose for single servings. For the most part, I use it to prepare boxed lunches and to re-heat my coffee. It functions really well for me. Though it comes with a one year warranty, my personal experience with Farberware products has never been disappointing. Highly recommended for small spaces.

I have had good luck with this company's products. I do like this little microwave but it needs some improvements-the front panel needs to be lit, the plastic cover over the numbers is starting to disintegrate and we've only had it for a month and the door grates a bit when being opened or closed. I like the fact that it stops beeping when you open the door and I'm hoping it lasts me at least 5 years but......

I have only had this microwave for 2 weeks so I can't speak to it's longevity. But so far I am very pleased with it. It cooks and warms up food evenly and it's whisper quiet when it's running. I purchased my first microwave 30 years ago when I bought my condo. It was a Kenmore and it lasted 25 years before it sparked and set my food on fire. I then purchased a Farberware which wobbled and lasted 5 years before it sparked and set my food on fire. This Danby is stable and doesn't wobble at all. I had never bought any Danby appliances before but I'm glad I took a chance on this one. I wanted the all black but it was out of stock so I bought the black one trimmed in stainless steel and it looks very nice on the countertop in the corner of my kitchen. The stainless steel does show fingerprints but I just wipe it down with hot soapy water when I wash dishes, so that's not a big deal. Nothing is made to last very long anymore so I'll be happy if I get 5 years out of this microwave. Wayfair's service was great. The microwave was delivered to my door less than 48 hours after I ordered it.

I have to confess that a year ago, when we did our kitchen remodel, I read up on reviews for this microwave and I was scared we were making a mistake in buying this microwave. I found several reviews that "slammed" the microwave for catching on fire, not working, or the handle ripping off. I specifically waited over a year to write this review so I could see for myself and give an honest review of the product. I am pleased to report I have had zero issues with the microwave. The only "complaint" I have with the microwave, is that it is a little hard to pull the door open. I do have to give it a good yank, but no problems. Maybe Murphy's Law will kick in and the handle will rip off now that I have written this review-- lol But I've been very happy with this product, as well as the dishwasher we bought (it's so quiet when it runs, we sometimes accidentally open it and get sprayed with water because we can't even tell it's on), and the cooktop. All have functioned as expected and no issues. I think the majority of happy people don't bother writing a review, and the squeaky wheels will always voice their concerns. It's good to let us all know about the problems, unfortunately they can overshadow the good experiences that don't ever get reported. Hence why I felt compelled to write a review. :) I would definitely recommend all the Bosch products to a friend.

This Sharp drawer microwave is an excellent addition to our kitchen. The drawer configuration fit great in our kitchen island and looks terrific. The microwave's fold out control panel makes it very easy to see and access all the features when you need them and then neatly tucks away when not in use, giving us all the functionality with a nice sleek look to our kitchen. By being able to place the drawer in a lower position in the island, it makes the microwave much easier to use than an above the stovetop microwave for my grandchildren and short friends. The microwave has several presets for cooking, reheating, and defrosting to help simplify tasks. Overall, it is a great microwave.
