These beds are beautiful. Fairly easy to put together with a little help.
The only reason I'm not giving the beds 5* is because the specs say it needs box spring for both the top and bottom bunks. I emailed a question to Wayfair and was told just that. No other details or suggestions. I was concerned about the heigh of the beds with a full box spring so opted for a bunkie board/low profile box spring. Because it's there the mattress doesn't fit secure into the bed and slides leaving a gap between the mattress, the bunkie board, and the bed frame.
The only other "issue" is cosmetic and not a giant issue. But again the specs say this bunk can be used as two twin beds, but once set up estheticly the head or foot board peg (depending on how it's set up) shows the unfinished wood where you would stack the bunks. It would of been nice to have some sort of cap to cover it so it looks nicer.
Otherwise the color and quality of the bed is very nice and sturdy.

Seems solid, may have to reinforce the guardrail on the side with the ladder as it seems a bit wobbly and kids tend to pull at it when climbing the ladder. The bed has a few very minor scratches but nothing really noticable. Kids love it

Slat BrokeCost Increase

from Lexington, KY on 06/26/2013 – Verified Buyer

We bought these beds in mid 2011. The wood is beautiful and I am very pleased with how they look. However one of the slats did break after only about a year. And my son weighs next to nothing. I tried to get wayfair to replace the slat, but go the run around. I finally just made my husband cut me a new one from some hardwood he had left over from another project. I would have given this be 4 or maybe even 5 stars if we hadn't had an issue with the slat. Also, we paid only $240 for the beds back in 2011. I can't believe they are now almost $400!!

from Woodhaven, NY on 04/26/2013 – Verified Buyer

Great price and quality. My girls 6 and 8 loves loves their new beds. My husband and brother build it so quick i thought the bed would fall apart as soon as the girls tried it. But to my surprise its pretty strong. Highly recommend the bed for KIDS.

fair quality

from Douglas, MA on 06/24/2013 – Verified Buyer

During assembly we notice chips in wood. Husband assured me that it would not affect the stability of the bed, you get what you pay for.

Excellent value for money

Easy to assemble.
Lightweight, but quite sturdy.
Looks really good.
Only drawback was the number(6 each) and the quality of the unfinished slats that were provided.

My Kids Love IT!!!

from Natchez,MS on 07/28/2010

The bunk bed looks great. my kids are 1 and 3 so i didn't attach the ladder to the bed it has hooks that attach to the ladder then your supposed to screw it onto the bed. but since i have a 1 year old i just take the ladder off during the day and put it on the top bunk. the rail on the top bed is high enough that i'm not worried that my 3 year old will fall out and on the bottom i have one of those things that has the bar that goes under the mattress then a mesh thing that raises up to keep my one year old from falling out.and i love that it can also be used as 2 seperate beds so when they get older i can split them up.the only thing is the support boards under each mattress are flimsy, but we havent replaced them yet cause they are fine for my young kids but i know when they get older we will deffinately have to put better boards under them. i would definately recommend this bunk bed.
