The canopy bed is beautiful and was easy to assemble. The instructions included are accurate and easy to follow. I only knocked a star off because the top and bottom "F" pieces did not screw in on the left side of the bed because the screw holes didn't align properly. I even tried turning them around, flipping them upside down and swapping the places of the 2 bars, to no avail. But I just left the bars slotted into the brackets and I think it will be ok..they are just not secured with screws on that side of the bed. This is a surprisingly nice bed for the very modest price. Thanks to a one-piece headboard it does not feel too flimsy, which is often a problem with flat-pack metal beds. The headboard shelf is very handy and eliminates the need for a nightstand if you are pressed for space. I have mine covered with drapes for winter warmth, but the headboard and footboard design are very pretty and proportional so I think it would also look beautiful with more of the frame exposed. Would work for an adult or a child, depending on how you dressed it. Took about an hour to put together and realistically, you only need a second person for maybe five minutes. To provide this look, cracks, knots, knot-holes, splits and uneven rubbed edges are purposely left intact from original pieces of wood and in many instances additional man-made distressing is given to emphasize its rustic charm. These are not product defects but unique features that add beauty and character. Accordingly, expansion or shrinkage, small cracks and wood imperfection are inherent qualities of our product. This bed exceeded my expectations. It is majestic large and in charge. The quality is decent and the color and aging are a nice touch. The one thing that I wish a reviewer would of mentioned or the ad is how high off the floor it is. I'm 5'5 and had to buy a 6" step stool and I barely still can get up into the bed. I love my bad and would’ve given it five stars except that The bed arrived with a crack in the footboard finial and two cracks on headboard post. Wayfair Customer Service was great and offered either a modest discount or to send replacement parts but then the whole bed would’ve had to be taken apart and reassembled which was way too much of a hassle.
